For this role we are looking for someone with a solid understanding of drug discovery and development coupled with a grounding in competitive intelligence. Bring your skills and experience to the growing GAICE team which is creating new positions for Competitive Intelligence Leaders & Managers – Research and Early Development.

What you´ll do

You will execute Competitive Intelligence (CI) activities related to research and early development from Idea to Phase 3 ID for the specific Therapeutic Area. With an understanding of the RIA TA and deep product development stage-specific scientific know-how, this Manager/Associate Director -level role ensures the execution of the Competitive Intelligence function, working collaboratively with the broader CI team to shape future-proofed TA and product strategies and deliver sustainably differentiated brands.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Aligns with the  CI TA Director/leaders on project end-goals and discusses implications on analytical/research work-plans
  • Establishes strong working relationships with early scientific leaders, and in consultation with the CI TA Leader/Director defines the range of problems and translate these into intelligence hypotheses
  • Conducts primary and secondary research as well as  coordinating with the CI Information Leader to ensure data requests to third party vendors are executed
  • Analyses data, derives actionable insight and shares progress and key findings with the CI Function and R&D leaders
  • Responsible for ensuring robust coverage of key scientific congress pre, peri and post event
  • Leverage strong written communication skills to prepare materials that summarize/document key insights and findings, to be used by CI TA leaders or other internal customers in key decision-making forums
     

Essential Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences
  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and an understanding of drug discovery and development
  • Prior experience in Respiratory, Inflammation and Autoimmune disease areas
  • Prior, direct competitive intelligence experience
  • Research and analytics experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desirable

  • Advanced degree holders in life sciences or who have a focus in decision analysis, statistics, business or medicine..
  • Prior experience of managing external vendors
