Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking an Associate Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Costa Rica facility. The Associate Buyer is responsible for Purchases and arranges timely deliveries of assigned items, supplies, and materials; expedites as needed and acts as liaison between vendors and users, getting prior approval for purchases in excess of established limit. Transactions may involve occasional modification of standard and common usage items, supplies, materials, and/or services. Conducts studies of material costs and supplier services and recommends changes in purchasing procedures to improve service and/or reduce cost, interviews sales representatives and vendors. Some activities related with the position will be: Understands how to skillful negotiations with internal and external suppliers, solve problems, settle disputes; develop win-win resolutions, and develop positive relations through tact, diplomacy, and good judgment. Comprehends how to define and apply complex data analysis and analytical tools for process improvements. Understands and applies process channel knowledge for acquiring materials and/or services in order to ensure delivery requirements for commodities and/or service customers. Possesses fundamental and sound knowledge of the value chain process; and possesses the ability to analyze and interpret cost drivers when applying cost out strategies. Understands how to utilizes and apply project management tools and techniques for procurement applications. Prepares reports and other correspondence for use by Eaton SCM professionals. Observe and follow the Environmental, Quality and Health rules required for this position. Good communications and customer care skills when interacting with both internal and/or external customers. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of supply chain and purchasing reporting systems. Knowledge of Eaton commodity products and supplier resources. Good knowledge of supply chain and purchasing requirements. Sound knowledge of quality assurance and reporting accuracy. Knowledge and application skills of process improvement.
