We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Control Manager, Chief Control Office Technology

In this role, you will

  • Act as a key point of contact for GBM CCO Technology related activity that relates to GBM Technology in Asia Pacific, and direct reports to the Head of GBM CCO Technology Asia Pacific.
  • Support the GBM Business in Asia Pacific with timely identification, assessment and mitigation of technology related risks so that business objectives are achieved within GBMs organisation tolerance for risk and in compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies and standards.
  • Support the GBM CIO and management team by providing risk and controls consultancy, advice and guidance to Technology Centre Teams
  • Assist the GBM CIO and the Group CCO in the implementation of the Operational Risk framework such as Three Lines of Defence and the delivery of the GBM CCO Technology plan globally.
  • Support the Head of the Function in the implementation of the Group Operational Risk Framework and internal and external Audit and risk related regulatory engagement
  • Support and develop the creation of meaningful management information to advise the GBM IT community on impacts on the Control Environment
  • Support the creation and completion of relevant risk management records such as Internal Events and dispensations where required
  • Support the appropriate application of policies control standards and procedures
  • Contribute to relevant governance forums, and support Audit and Compliance Reviews
  • Advocate the desired behavioural changes across the GBM IT Department Heads in Asia Pacific, required to mature the understanding and management of technology risk controls. 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • Proven experience in IT risk management, ASP regulatory landscape impacting IT, internal controls management, IT audit and operational risk.
  • Communication skills with the ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Technology and other Senior Executives and other key stakeholders using non technical easily understood language
  • Self starter who has worked in teams in a variety of cultures and led individual projects and reviews
  • Innovative and able to assess needs and propose solutions
  • Make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation and business
  • Ability to influence without direct management authority
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Planning and project management skills
