We are looking for an enthusiastic controls system engineer with a keen desire to succeed and drive customer excellence through technical abilities and aptitude.


As part of the field service team you will be expected to provide both onsite and remote technical support across a diverse range of automation products. Along with project support installation and commissioning.



The field service team support customers with both legacy and cutting-edge-technologies, across all industry sectors so the ability to adapt and have a growth mindset is vital.



Your key focus will be supporting our customers onsite, fault finding PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems using your technical competence and strong interpersonal skills leading to an exceptional level of customer service.



Reporting to the field service team leader, the successful candidate will provide professional and efficient fault finding, repair and commissioning service to customers throughout the UK & Ireland.  You will be expected to participate in a standby rota, and therefore a flexible attitude towards out of hours and weekend working is essential. 



What are my responsibilities?


Customer focus, delivering complex solutions with exceptional customer service.


Site support including fault rectification, modifications, installation, and commissioning.


Liaison with customers, contractors, and team members.


Creation of reports and documentation.


Engineering, design, and commissioning of complex systems.


Identification and implementation of software, hardware & system improvements, rectifications.


Support our 24/7 standby rota, and technical support as required.


Perform complex FAT, SAT, and commissioning alongside contractors and customers.


 



What do I need to qualify for this role?



Degree /HND level in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent experience.


Excellent team player works collaboratively and proactively.


Excellent communication skills.


Adapts well to working both in a team and on your own initiative.


Experience in commissioning and fault-finding industrial automation systems.


Experienced multi-vendor PLC, HMI, SCADA and DCS systems.


Knowledge of IT/OT networks, design, and configuration.


Experience with ELV equipment installation and commissioning.


Use of high-level programming languages.


Awareness and understanding of standards.


Experienced with industrial security concepts and standards.


Experience of whole lifecycle from conception to completion, design, test, documentation, programming, installation and commissioning and support.
