The purpose of the position is to responsible that seafarers are always trained and certified as required by the Business Units (as per Business Units training matrix definitions), responsible for and managing the aspects of the seafarers in the respective region for Business Units.
Assisting the respective 3rd party agent of the planning of the seafarers and dispatch to the vessels and coordinating all Crew operations/Recruitment/Talent & development on daily basis.

Key responsibilities

Principal accountabilities
  • Responsible that managed pool of the officers is always trained and certified as required by the Business Units (as per Business Units training matrix definitions);
  • Executes several daily Crew HR duties such as sickness, crew welfare, appraisals, crew complaints, complaints from vessels etc;
  • Issues documents for officers including SEAMS, etc.;
  • Updates daily for officers data/file if required;
  • Provides renewed certificates and documents to the related central Business Units departments for updating and ensures crew's documents are 100% updated in the Business Unit personnel systems before embarkation as per Business Unit certificates and documentation matrix;
  • Available 24/7 to handle operational emergencies and urgent incidents on the vessels;
  • Handle for urgent/tough task to assist 3rd party agent for crew operation for Maersk Line;
  • Handle seafarer’s payroll and reimbursement issue.
  • Monitors training and education requirements in the respective region (such as defined by local authority) and ensure Business Units are informed of requirements all the time.
  • Check agents crew overhead invoices and agents’ fees invoices before submitted to Maersk Line.
  • Participate in other duties as specified by the Head of Manning Office Far East Asia.
Measurements
  • Successful ensure documentation in compliance with local and international regulations and Business Units requirements.
  • Measured on Key Performance Indicators (KPI), includes measurements on:
o Officer retention
o Sea staff quality & engagement
o Sea staff documentation and systems data quality
o Manning office performance quality
o Crew assignment
  • Measured on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) issued by Business Units such as:
o Sea staff retention
o Sea staff quality & engagement
o Sea staff documentation and systems data quality
o Manning office performance / quality
  • Objectives as assigned by the Head of Manning Office Far East Asia.

We are looking for

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin is essential
  • Good proficiency in systems especially MS office
  • Basic knowledge and awareness of global industries
  • Maritime University bachelor’s degree preferred, CET-6
  • Experience in the crewing and/or maritime training industry preferred
