Our client, a fast-expanding Tech Unicorn is looking for a Data Engineering Lead to lead their Big Data Platform development team. The selected candidate will be working leading the data engineering technology vision and roadmap. Great prospect with a fast-growing unicorn.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of the Data Engineering technology vision and roadmap.
• Manage onshore and offshore development resources to build the platform.
• Build scalable and efficient big data solutions to support the rapid growth of the business.
• Building distributed and highly parallelized Big Data Ingestion and process pipeline to be able to process massive amounts of data.
• Lead the building of the development platform across high-level architecture and complex algorithm design.
• Review and design the data quality framework to measure and improve data quality over time.
• Work with a product manager, business to design the data pipelines.
• Build an automated process and software which are reusable and reliable.
• Work with Site Reliability Team to build a software delivery model in CI/CD.
• Mentor junior developers to adapt to the latest data engineering and big data technology.

Requirements:

• Extensive Data Engineering experience in solving complex problems.
• In-depth Software development experience in Python, Scala or Java.
• Team Leading experience in driving the full development cycle.
• Knowledge in design and implementing data infrastructure on Public Cloud infrastructures like AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience with Big Data technology like Apache Spark, Nifi, Kafka, Hadoop, Tensorflow, etc
• Strong experience and knowledge in SQL.
• Great people skills to work with all level of stakeholders including senior management.
• Experience in in-memory data processing is preferred.
• Interest to learn new technologies including Machine Learning.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese.
• A startup and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Able to be station or frequent traveling to Shenzhen is required.
