M Moser Associates’ office in Taipei is looking for a creative, hands-on and knowledgeable Manager of Design and Project Management with extensive workplace interior design experience to join the Moser family, leading our Taipei teams in the design and delivery of medium and large scale workplace transformations.

As our Design Manager, you will lead a team of designers, engineers and other project professionals in the design and delivery of workplace transformations, ensuring to meet client expectations, manage sustainability projects, and effectively coordinate with internal resources and external partners.

Primary Responsibilities

• Utilize strong technical skills and relevant experiences to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Prepare and deliver design proposals for new large scale project opportunities on a consistent basis
• Lead concept design and storytelling with a cross disciplinary team to define new experiences and opportunities for our clients
• Deep engagement with office and global leadership with a sincere desire to make things better in our office and lead by example
• Lead a team of designers to develop client solutions and solve complex problems
• Be able to independently lead projects and also take direction as a team member
• Take responsibility over the teams financial targets and look to generate the business volume and operational efficiency to meet those targets
• Handling risk management, tracking financial performance of projects
• Negotiating for fees and contracts, managing, scheduling, budgeting and staffing for design team, coordinating with sub-consultants, vendors and contractors
• Effectively manage client expectations with an aim to consistently exceed

Our Design Manager will also require the following skills and experiences:

• 8 years+ of relevant project experience
• Solid knowledge of workplace/interior practices in Taiwan
• A track record for successfully delivering projects that involve a high degree of change and complexity
• A passion for design and professional excellence
• Proven client facing experience engaging C-suite and senior business leaders
• Good leadership capability, ability to work collaboratively with team, as well as oversight and mentoring of junior staff.
• Strong ability in managing fees, schedules and staffing
• Excellent communication skill (both written and spoken) in English and Mandarin/Chinese
• Familiar with IDP & IDOP process and able to handle permitting issues is must
• A degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design
