How will you make an impact?
This director of enterprise and solution architecture position will guide IT partners with enterprise architecture strategy and solutions to meet business goals and objectives across broader IT engineering organization and develop scalable and extensible solutions across different technology platforms in Digital Engineering organization. This technology leader will be responsible for helping build and deliver cross functional enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap to identify, adopt and commercialize current and future digital technologies.
 
What will you do?           

  • Create and maintain enterprise architecture governance and standards. Provide guidance, mentorship and technical expertise to solution architects and development leads across multiple projects
  • Create and maintain the technology portfolios in IT organization, establish an architecture community to enable architects across IT to share ideas, leverage existing technologies and solutions to maximize the business value and adopt cut-edge technologies.
  • Develop and maintain the technology roadmap for assigned area, collaborating with business and IT partners to ensure that the roadmap creates business value with technically sound solutions and seeking out opportunities to apply technical innovations to customer needs
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical blueprint of the IT services, creating solution options that align IT services with business sponsor's missions, goals and objectives with consideration of both technical and non-technical implications and trade-offs.
  • Lead and conduct comprehensive technical assessment and evaluation of 3rd-party tools and products and provide recommendation of selection to business and IT stakeholders
  • Oversee implementation of solution architecture by producing blueprints that guide the development and implementation of business solutions across multiple projects, providing direction to technical teams during project delivery and ensuring implementations support technology and business roadmaps
  • Mentor technical team members and direct the day-to-day work of contingent technical staff. Effectively articulate how the team can realize business value through technology.
  • Serves as the hands-on process owner to translate enterprise vision into enabling architectural roadmaps and communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals, and strategies, and to gain organizational commitment from IT and business leaders for enterprise-level architecture
  • Thought leader that will participate in critical discussions, drive ideation across all areas of IT, stay current with the latest technology trends, and ensure best practices and standards are utilized across all key projects.
  • Translate company business strategy into concrete solutions, design and execute an IT systems architecture blueprint to support that strategy
How will you get here?
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering) OR 15 years of relevant experience
Experience
  • 10 years of enterprise/solution architecture and software engineering experience
  • 7 years of technical leadership experience in large IT organizations
  • Demonstrated experience managing directly or indirectly professional level and architects with successful results.
  • Proficient Experience in managing complex problems, from identifying the potential impact on the business to the development of the strategy, execution and communication at all levels with solid with demonstrated results.
  • Experience in creating solid connections and conducting benchmarking in the Industry and influencing in the adoption of best practices to generate value and results
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge on software architecture and design patterns including API and microservices.
  • Enterprise architecture skills including application, infrastructure, networking and security
  • Be able to provide strategic technology direction and architecture vision encompassing an enterprise view across a large portfolio of projects
  • Extensive experience in high level systems planning, design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting with a track record of accomplishment in large and complex systems
  • Excellent communication skills to both technical and non-technical audience
  • Ability to multi-task and operate with a strong sense of urgency
  • Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills
  • Well connected with the technical industry, active in technical groups, think tanks, conferences, etc.
