Job Description

What will I be doing?

As Director Human Resources North China, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Strategic partner to regional leadership and helps enhance performance through appropriate advice and delivery of People strategy and best-practice service.
  • Key responsibilities will include proactive relationship management and HR advisory and support through close partnership with VP Operations & Hotel leadership teams with regards to driving talent acquisition, talent development initiatives, international mobility, Compensation & Benefits, and standard HR operations matters. Support the business objective achievements in terms of customer service deliveries, standards, schedules and legal compliance.
  • Closely work with HR VP-GCM and VP Operations for the HR strategy/tactics and set the yearly people target for the regions.
  • Provide a full range of consultation and support to designated population in all HR matters. And provide coaching and guidance to hotel HR team members.
  • Guide the hotel to build up HR annual strategy plan which towards achieving overall business target.
  • Develop and train HR leaders in the central region to become HR business partner.
  • Manage regular projects/programs including Performance Management, Talent Review, Year-End Compensation Process, Diversity and Global Team Member Survey etc.
  • Partner closely with all HR Functional Experts to design the new projects or programs subject to business needs.
  • Guide the property level with regards to the implementations of new projects and programs in areas of Compensation & Benefits, Recruiting, Talent Management etc and offer the feedback to HR functional experts in terms of the effectiveness the results.
  • Review the hotel Director level’s payroll package as to be in line with external and internal market data.
  • Corporate with Area GMs to advise the movement of Director of Operations in the hotel.
  • Guide and Facilitate the Human Capital meeting in the regional / area levels to make sure the succession plan for GM and 4Ds level in place.
  • Coach and direct the hotel GM / DHR to set up Human Capital Meeting in the hotel level
  • Collaborate with Campus Recruitment project leader in facilitating the universities’ relationship, follow up and monitor the Management Trainee/intern programs happening in our hotels.
  • Manage ad-hoc requests and projects such as HR related transactions, Team members’ grievance, headcount/FTE approval requests, and other projects and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Closely drive & monitor the hotel’s HR dashboard, People Audit & other tools and provide the counselling and guidance to the hotel HRs for the improvement.
  • Establish and maintain links to the external marketplace/competitor landscape.
  • Collaborate with VP Ops / Area GMs and hotel GMs to communicate with the owners regarding to Human Resources initiatives & programs as necessary.
  • Work closely with regional team including VP Operations, Finance and Commercial to monitor the hotel business through budget presentation, monthly Rolling Forecast call, hotel on-site business review etc as to achieve overall balance scorecard index.
  • Corporate with Regional Pre -opening DHR to solve the ad-hoc issue in the hotel if need.
  • Participate the regular HR conference or meetings which hold by either APAC or GCM
  • Conduct monthly meetings with property HR of each region for keeping smooth communication and best practice sharing.
  • Participate bi-monthly GCM Human Capital meeting/HR meeting.

Director Human Resources North China serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Experienced in a regional role in an international chain hospitality industry for at least 2 years and above.
  • Strong resilience, well-communicated
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field/equivalent.
  • At least 8 - 10 years progressively responsible experience in Human Resources with exposure to and demonstrated competence in all functional areas. Strong relationship management skills with strong track record of establishing credibility and delivering results.
  • Strong knowledge of China local labor legislation.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin.
  • 50% of travelling yearly
