Supervisory Responsibilities: 
This position will lead a team with 7 - 8 staffs.
 
Position Summary:

This role is to lead the PMO&PPI team to drive deliverables of strategic projects and other cross functions/divisions projects by developing and maintaining project management methodologies, standards and tool to align with the organization’s strategic objectives. Meanwhile, this team has overall responsibility to introduc PPI knowledge and set up PPI Business System, build PPI culture and direct application of PPI& lean tools and concepts to a variety of business work groups excepts manufacturing.

 
Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the PMO team to drive strategic projects and other cross functions/divisions key projects to ensure the team achieves performance targets by aligning with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • To achieve better productivity, profitability, synergy, quality, consistency and oversight of projects across an enterprise by developing and maintaining project management methodologies, standards and tools.
  • To establish the organization’s approach to the full life cycle of projects: This includes everything from project planning, initiation, resourcing and execution to monitoring, control and completion.
  • To work with leadership team to align which projects should be undertaken why and when, not just how, as well as the project objectives, KPI, etc.
  • Interface with leadership team to define project priorities and implementation opportunities and challenges, and keep them up-to-date with project risks and opportunities.
  • Work with organization leaders to deploy PPI Business System in China non-manufacturing organizations, successfully accomplish goals consistent with business needs and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and technical skills for PPI projects, kaizen blitzes and other PPI initiatives
  • Act as a change agent, systematically driving use of PPI thinking and application for continuous improvement and change throughout operations.
  • Develop PPI Process Managers to support PPI deployment in whole organization. Through PPI platform to identify and develop talents for fulfill organization development requirement.
  • Work with corporate and division PPI VP and Directors to create and communicate ongoing PPI Business System strategy, aligned with the Thermo Fisher’s Mission and Vision.
  • Identify best practices within the company, and outside of Thermo Fisher, and serve as a conduit for best-practice sharing. Proliferate PPI and Lean thinking throughout the organization.
  • Set annual performance targets for individuals and the team and conduct performance reviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Basic Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor degree of Science, MBA is preferred.
  • Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes and approaches (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP)® and Portfolio Management Methodology – PPM).
  • Demonstrated technical skills in lean tools & concepts with an emphasis on implementation. Knowledge about Lean concept, Six Sigma or other process improvement techniques. Six-sigma Black Belt or/and Lean Expert is preferred. 
  • Budget, cost and profitability management skills.
  • Knowledge of resource management tools.
  • Credibility as a senior-level project leader.
  • Rich experience in stakeholder management.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture
  • Team Leadership & Development: Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others
  • Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills: Ability to build a strong network and relationships at executive levels with technology and solutions, customers and vendor groups
  • Resilience and resourcefulness
  • Demonstrated ability to independently take ownership of initiatives and drive execution through team and in a matrix reporting environment.

  • Broad knowledge of multi-functional, multi-site, global organizational processes and financial business methods
 
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel up to 20-30% of the time, including international travel
  • The position is based at Shanghai, China.
