In this role, you have the opportunity to play a critical leadership role in driving Mother & Child Care (MCC) innovation program process and its execution excellence. Leads project management subject area through the organization, keeping abreast of developments in project management tools and processes (both internal and external).

You are responsible for:

  • Building and maintains the project organization, resolving ways of working, and defining key interfaces. Ensures proper execution versus the - project/program plan

  • Formulating and being accountable for the overall program & continuous improvement plan, in consultation with management and other parties

  • Shaping and tracking projects and their goals coordinating the overall cross-functional resourcing to enable the various Integral Project Leaders to optimally deliver (time, budget and scope)

  • Establishing, leading, and supervising the R&D improvement plan in coordination with other partners and establish Key Performance Indicators

  • Providing management and partners with regular project/program performance status, variances to plan, and identification of corrective actions

  • Coordinating the resourcing and budgeting across the various programs and exerts influence to ensure successful execution and completion of projects.

  • Developing, coaching, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the project/program.

  • Coordinating effective communication/organizational change across the different sub-businesses and functions to secure harmonies and knowledge build-up and its reuse

  • Ensuring compliance with and continuous improvement of relevant internal policies, procedures, and standards

  • Driving the execution of I2M Excellence processes for the MCC Innovation team and drives its continuous improvements in alignment with Philips central team

  • Securing an effective and established process of retrospective lessons learned and their sharing and implementation across with organization and other project teams.

  • Keeping up-to-date with project management practices and shaping their use to MCC in line with the evolution of innovation and technology roadmap.

This opportunity is based at the Innovation site Eindhoven, and it is part of Innovation & Development (I&D) Personal Health focuses on the development of medically and non-medically endorsed lifestyle products, having an end-to-end development and realization of new product propositions.

One of the key growth areas is the Mother and Child Care category (Philips Avent), which encompasses multiple sub-businesses such as Infant feeding, Comforting, Breast Feeding Solutions, Secure Parenting & Digital.

To succeed as Director of R&D Program Management, you should have the following skills and experience :

  • Master degree in mechanical, electrical or SW engineering

  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in medical and consumer sector

  • Demonstrated ability in leading an innovation project team

  • Confirmed experience in the management of an innovation program (at least 3 years)

  • Profound Lean expertise (preferably certified Black Belt) and specialist on agile/scrum method

  • System engineering expertise and Validated strong project management competences (preferably PMP certified)

  • Proven strong people leadership (preferably through group lead experience)

  • Knowledge of innovation processes and related quality management systems
