Location: This position is remote based from a home office in the US in Eastern or Central time zone

 

Position Summary:

The Director of Web Strategy & Digital Operations will be responsible for evolving the overall technical strategy for Bentley’s public facing websites, driving the all-around user experience for our prospects and customers throughout their digital journey, while making continuous improvement in operational efficiency. You will oversee the functionality of the website, the evaluation and management of website performance, and help lead the selection and management of the CMS. This individual will manage an existing web team and identify and mange external vendors and budgets to support key projects. This role will also collaborate with key executive stakeholders, and work with internal cross-functional teams such as Creative Services, Product Marketing, Investor Relations, and IT. You will consider every aspect of the user experience, and business and marketing goals to coordinate and deliver strategic vision, design to the highest possible standards; and implement strategies that increase traffic & demonstrate ROI. We’re looking for a seasoned technical web leader, who has a proven track record of driving cross-functional vision alignment, as well as hands-on coaching capabilities, and ability to deliver large scale technical projects. The individual in this role is also expected to have the domain knowledge and analytical skills to guide our organization through technical and regulatory changes that impact our web properties, while working closely with IT and Security to ensure best practices and standards are followed for security of all our web properties.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Evolve the overall technical vision and strategy to scale Bentley’s digital operations and increase web development and optimization velocity.
  • Deliver consistent improvement in users’ digital experience and lift web engagement and conversion. Own and communicate progress of KPIs & organizational goals.
  • Drive wholistic, connected digital experience across Bentley’s web properties and deliver new digital capabilities and web functionalities.
  • Enable and support global enterprise and pay-as-you-go growth strategies.
  • Partner across internal stakeholders to design, implement, execute, and scale experimentation across channels and user journeys.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with culturally and geographically cross-functional stakeholders with varied technical aptitude throughout the company.
  • Implement and manage workflows and best practices.
  • Coordinate with the IT department to ensure that web servers, hardware and software support requirements.
  • Work with IT department to debug any issues arising from the performance of website and related systems.
  • Work with localization team to execute localized website content in more than 11 languages.
  • Collaborate with SEO team on best practices for performance and optimization strategies.
  • Regulate and manage access rights to systems.
  • Create and evolve workflows for content lifecycle processes that include: content acquisition; content creation; review and approval cycles; localization models; content publishing; content analysis and content optimization; and content archival.
  • Work with legal department to define and execute website usage and privacy policies.
  • Maintain and distribute all website related documentation and style guides.

 

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum of 7-8 years of relevant technical web operations and leadership experience at medium to large scale global technology companies, preferably with B2B SaaS and ecommerce business models. Experience at a Public Company a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with demonstrated success in navigating complex business issues and technical environment, and proven ability to inspire and build relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience in managing large scale customer facing web platform as a product owner, and distributed resources in a hybrid work environment.
  • Deep domain expertise with hands-on experience with CMS, SEO, UX design, web analytics, video streaming solutions, microservices, and related web ecosystem.
  • Adept with gathering, analyzing, and reporting using web analytics tools as well as log level large data sets.
  • Experience with multi-country and language CMS deployment and integration with translation services.
  • Sitecore experience a plus.
  • Coding: HTML; CSS, Javascript; jQuery; Dreamweaver a plus.
  • Bachelors' degree in marketing, computer science or related work experience.
