Head of Engineering - Stealth MedTech Venture

BCGDV has partnered with a large medical device manufacturer to build an app that is transforming the lives of patients living with neurological diseases, empowering them to better understand their condition, have better conversations with their doctor and ultimately live a better life.

As part of this venture, we're looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to join the team.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Coaching, supporting and leading a small but growing team of senior engineers.
• Setting the technical vision and direction for the product including coordinating but not dictating the design and architecture of the iOS and Android apps, backend API and data/machine learning pipelines.
• Working closely with the lead product manager to set scope, direction and delivery timelines.
• Advocating for high standards of code quality, appropriate tests and CI/CD.
• Working in a fast paced environment where ambiguity is the norm.

Background:

• Have experience leading a cross-functional team of engineers.
• Know the ins, outs, pros and cons of at least one of Python, Java or Swift.
• Thrive in fast paced demanding startup environments.

• You have worked in healthcare/med-tech/pharma.
• You have a mix of corporate, agency and startup experience.
