- European garment buying office carrying own brand name for own retail chain in France & Europe
- Headquarters & design center : France
- Vendor factories : China & SE Asian countries
- Main market : France & Europe
- Minor market : American & Asia
- We are looking for FABRIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – with details as follows :
THE JOB :
- Lead the Fabric Development team to drive the fabric R&D process
- Attend fabric shows and maintain strong relationships with fabric and yarn mills to get insights on latest innovation and sustainability trends
- Develop fabrics with sustainable materials and meet company's sustainability goals
- Analyze fabric needs across all brands, clearly communicating and making recommendations of market trends, in addition to color and new materials to design partners in European Headquarters for the seasons
- Manage the fabric sample development and approval including the hand feel, wash and construction
- Work with design, sourcing, and production to ensure we are fitting within cost structures – provide multiple options and recommendations for assigned garments
- Working with preproduction to source new vendors to support new brands & initiatives
- Work closely with SE Asian mills and develop fabric mills and factory catalogue
- 8 – 10+ years in Fabric Research and Development (Fabric R&D)
- Sound years of experience in Fabric Research, Construction and Development with good knowledge on both knits and woven fabrics and color
- Strong contacts with mills across Asia
- Experience in innovation and sustainability, able to provide new insights not only from fabric level but also at yarn level, fiber level and chemical level with pricing needs.
- Good communication and presentation skills with good supplier management skills
- Some business trips is required
- 5 days work
- Office location : TST Harbour City
