Job Description

Advantest America has an exciting opening for a Factory Applications Engineer (COE) position in San Jose Bay Area to join our team to support the MPT3000 test platform. As a member of our team, you will be part of a lively and dynamic team, working on the leading edge of technology, supporting key customers in the growing SSD industry and protocol application related areas. You will lead complex customer technical projects including benchmark, pre/post sales activities and help define/validate new product solutions by working closely with our Sales, Marketing, R&D and Regional AE/SE Support Team. The successful candidate will need to be self-driven and highly motivated with a good blend of technical, communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leverage technical education to develop and debug test program and CIM applications on Advantest's MPT3000 test platform to test Solid State Drive (SSD) devices, utilizing different protocols (PCIe AHCI, PCIe NVMe, SAS and SATA).
  • Research and keep up to date with new protocol and industry standard specifications and help define and validate new system HW/FW/SW features by working closely with Customers, Field AE, Marketing and R&D team.
  • Develop and maintain sample test programs (NVMe/SAS/SATA) to demonstrate different MPT3000 system features.
  • Responsible for customer accounts and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Project manage customer activities. Understanding customer needs, collecting customer requirements, prioritize and provide guidance to the organization.
  • Perform device and system benchmarks/characterization, as well as providing pre & post sales technical support to the Regional Field Application team located worldwide.
  • Provide technical expertise analysis to help debug, reproduce, narrow down and resolve customer issues.
  • Develop trainings/application notes/papers and deliver technical presentations to customer and at technical conferences and workshops.
