Accounting and Financial governance

• Preparation of monthly financial reports and analytics to support a structured risk-based monthly financial review

• Work closely with shared services team to ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with US GAAP & IFFRS

• Ensure regular review of account reconciliations including follow up and closure of open items

• Ensure timely completion of statutory audits for all entities

• Review business processes to improve/ strengthen internal controls and track remediation of control deficiencies

• Work closely with tax, transfer pricing and Intercompany teams to ensure tax structure is appropriately operationalized

Regulatory and tax compliance

• Ensure compliance with local regulatory reporting to statistical and commercial bureaus

• Liaise with tax team to ensure timely tax and VAT filings

• Liaising with local tax bureau officials in Singapore and support all data requirements for their reviews

Support business team on new products

• Provide controllership insight and infrastructure support to business on new product development

• Work closely with GFP and product development team to ensure operational and accounting infrastructure is setup to support new product launch

Operationalizing process across International landscape

• Review regional financials with local Controllership teams across the International landscape

• Project manage the review of GAAP differences across all International entities

• Implementation of new accounting standards and guidelines, such as IFRIC 23

• Oversight on appropriateness of accounting for new accounting standards implemented by the shared services team

Person Specification - Qualifications/Experience/Skills /Competencies

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university

• CPA or CA qualification is a pre-requisite

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS

• 4-5 years of relevant experience in accounting

• Experience with audit procedures and SOX compliance requirements

• Prior working experience in a Big4 audit firm preferred

• Prior working experience in the financial industry preferred

• Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office software tools, especially advanced MS excel skills

Essential

• Strong English speaking and writing skills

• Familiar with local statutory audit, tax returns and filing process in Singapore/ Hong Kong

• Strong accounting analysis skills with experience in handling multiple entities, transfer pricing and consolidations

• Ability to understand complex tax and legal entity structures

• Some knowledge in indirect tax, corporate income tax and transfer pricing

• Good business partnering skills working with various people across different organizations both internal as well as external

• Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills

• Able to drive changes to improve processes

• Ability to document work processes, procedures and policies

Desirable

• Experience within a regulated environment

• Experience in banking and financial services industry

• Interest in e-commerce

• Familiar with use of SAP system and BW tools
