Finance Manager - Petcare

Salary:  £56,625 - £70,782

 

 

An exciting opportunity to join Mars in a high profile role as Finance Manager - Petcare. This role requires a high degree of collaboration and socialization in order to properly maintain relationships and proactively manage expectations.  

 

The primary purpose of this role is to provide finance support to the Royal Canin CIO, Pet Nutrition Directors, and their leadership teams. 

 

This includes, but is not limited to (i) traditional FP&A support, (ii) stakeholder, risk and investment management support, and (iii) acquisition integration support.  The role is likely to adjust and flex based on demand within MGS. The job holder will need to demonstrate the ability to adjust comfortably to the changing demands.

 

What are we looking for?
 

MBA in Finance CPA/ACA/CIMA/ACCA or relevant finance experience

Several years experience working in a finance/planning environment

Experience of working in a global function/organization (working across different time-zones/regions) is desired.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal skills including the ability to successfully influence associates within & outside the S&F function, ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization, knowledge in SAP & MS Office (Strong Excel skills desired, i.e. pivot tables), fluency in English is essential

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

 

Financial analysis:

  • Preparing periodic analysis and explanation of actuals compared to plan for incurred budgets
  • Preparing periodic analysis and explanation of allocated IT costs compared to plan
  • Present the period summary to Royal Canin CIO, Pet Nutrition Directors, and their leadership teams that includes all relevant information about period performance and activities for Petcare segment
  • Ensuring periodic close process is completed timely and accurately in collaboration with functions and MIS (IT) team.
  • Identify and flag historic and forward looking financial risk identification and mitigation opportunities
  • Provide assistance to MIS senior finance manager on analysis of financial trends, risks, opportunities from the segment perspective, consistently making the link to incurred functions
  • Collaborate with running/fixed co-pilot for ad-hoc analysis requests to ensure smooth operations between functions
  • Collaborate with function PMO to understand historic and future investment cost profile and call-out financial risks and opportunities
     

Financial planning:

  • Challenging CIO and business partnership budget managers to understand IT cost drivers and undertake analysis contributing to strategic recommendations including proposals for remediating actions for financial risks
  • Understands, challenges and represents the segments investment priorities including strategic recommendations
  • Works with portfolio managers to prioritize and plan investments
  • Ensuring both MIS (IT) and business/segment targets are fully understood and communicated by all involved stakeholders
  • Ensuring entries into budgeting system are complete and accurate and align with targets, constraints and parameters
  • Contribute to MIS operating plan assumptions book
  • Respond to regional Ad Hoc requests and procedures when needed urgently in order to maintain consistency in the processes
  • Create strong relationships with the Royal Canin Regional CFO community in order to ensure alignment of targets, understanding of performance and outlook with regards to financial risks and opportunities
     

Acquisition integration support and financial operation optimization:

  • Supporting the financial integration of newly acquired businesses, usually as a member of project team, including the establishing of financial processes and impact analysis
  • Benefits tracking for the Butterfly Integration activity and ongoing IT investment
  • Challenging existing processes, defining new and more efficient solutions and applying best practices
  • Routinely assisting with high profile, ad-hoc projects
