This role is a Shanghai-based, China role responsible for the Securities Service Operations (SSO) Fund Administration operations reporting to the China Securities Service Operations head with a matrix report to the regional Fund Accounting functional head.

The Fund Administration Operations head is expected to:

• Manage all Fund Administration functions in China, in collaboration with the functions’ functional managers.
• Establish and expand as required Fund Administration functions as market and client demand require to expand SSO coverage from direct custody focus to Local Funds Custody and insourcing services from local asset managers.
• Expand the breadth and depth of the existing team to support the growing business in China. Partner with the regional and local business leads to define, and implement an efficient and scalable funds operational strategy for China.
• Set and deliver strategic initiatives for Fund Administration related functions in China; define success criteria in partnership with senior stakeholders, and implement measurement processes to track progress and impact.
• Lead the Operations Client Experience Initiative across Securities Service Operations for China, creating a culture of service excellence, driving service performance through specific customer-focused initiatives  
• Create a strong local and organizational culture by focusing on Voice of Employee feedback, implementation of Operations Excellence, career development, mobility and Innovation.
• Facilitate strong communication across various channels to engage employees.

Requirements

• A minimal of 12 years of related work experiences in Securities Services and in a senior management capacity preferable with Fund Accounting or Transfer Agency experience
• Fluency in English and a business-level proficiency in Chinese, both written and spoken.
• Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively across all levels.
• Experience in dealing with senior stakeholders and ability to articulate confidently and with gravitas is essential.
