IFF is inviting a passionate and results driven leader to join our China Flavors division as General Manager, Tastepoint China.

What you will contribute and lead

As General Manager you are accountable for the delivery of sustainable and profitable growth of Tastepoint China. You will champion developing and evolving differentiated service model to establish Tastepoint by IFF as partner of choice for mid-market customers.


Providing clear direction and influential leadership to Commercial team and all other functions, you will play a pivotal role in creating and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, teamwork and innovation. As General Manager Tastepoint, you will also ensure the availability and development of talent needed to meet current and future organizational needs.


Your Focus

  • Develop high level strategies to deliver sustainable, profitable growth in-line with DSM (Differentiated Service Model) vision and goals.
  • Lead and manage a growing commercial team to position Tastepoint by IFF as partner of choice
    • Guide and coach the team to collaborate and build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, providing guidance to deal with uncertain environment and manage change
    • Lead organizational agility by persuading key decision makers, managing stake holders and resources to support business objectives
    • Ignite and motivate growth, support the team to deliver value to customers
    • Create an environment that attracts, develops and retain talent
  • Understand market structure and driving forces with the ability to identify market or business opportunities.
  • Accountable for business and financial performances and reporting of Tastepoint P&L, budgeting and forecasting, market share, business portfolio, margin and other relevant business reports.
  • Foster a culture of Innovation.
  • Understand and leverage IFF’s strategy, organization, capabilities, proprietary technologies, resources, product and service offerings.
  • Maximize profit levers in coherence with global policy.
  • Create, communicate and execute Tastepoint business plan aligning with overall China local as well as regional business strategy.
  • Provide cross functional leadership.

Required Skills

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have minimum 15 years’ experience in the Flavors, FMCG or other related industry within a Commercial or Management function. You should have solid experience in developing high level business strategy, cross functional team management and excellent knowledge in identifying market or business opportunities.


A Master’s or Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Business or any other relevant discipline from a reputable institute will be essential.


With proven track record in a similar capacity, you are equipped with deep understanding of China Flavor market structure and driving forces, you possess strong business acumen and is capable in delivering sustainable, profitable business growth.


You are well versed in financial analysis, legal framework, business drivers and have the ability to engage cross functional teams for strategy development and priority delivery.


Ideally you should have team management or development experience apart from strong influencing and communication skills to collaborate across different levels.


You should be comfortable working in a B2B environment with a positive, self-driven or results oriented attitude. Strong leadership, customer orientation, effective time management skills with proven ability to lead all business projects and meeting deadlines are highly desirable.
