General Manager (m/f/x) - IoT & Industry 4.0 venture

This digital business unit in close partnership with BCG Digital Ventures is currently working on building a new venture that is poised to become the leading end to end IoT platform for machine efficiency and equipment effectiveness. This platform will not just completely reshape how companies produce and elevate their efficiency levels, but at the same time fundamentally augment the way how manufacturing employees do their job.

Being one of the first ConsulTech companies, they don’t just want to produce technology and sell it to clients but rather lastingly enable them to improve their operations based on the latest process excellence knowledge closely combined with this cutting-edge technology solution. Key Responsibilities

• Set the vision for the company and define the overall strategy from launch to scale; including long-term goals 
• Cultivate a high-performance company culture and develop company values that attract world-class talent
• Scale and develop the team,  also by leveraging your network of potential candidates
• Drive day-to-day operations, align resources to achieve key business priorities and proactively mitigate business, operational & governance risks
• Support the customer-centric development of the IoT-driven service business platform by providing expert guidance to all functional areas
• Leverage our corporate partner’s assets strategically and maximize the Venture’s unfair advantage
• Continue to develop the business model ahead of the market by identifying new business opportunities and translating them into new revenue streams in an entrepreneurial manner
• Own P&L and cash flow.
• Regularly report updates to Digital Business Unit corporate stakeholders regarding progress on strategic priorities, and collaborate with CEO Digital Business Unit to accelerate progress 
• Leverage your network to attract and onboard key clients and partners in manufacturing & production to drive growth

Key Requirements

• P&L responsibilities at C-level/Top-Management or Head/Director/VP of significant BU
• Proven track record of building successful products and high caliber teams from the ground up
• Multiple years of experience leading and scaling a high growth B2B start-ups and/or digital business units in established industrial companies
• Ideally, experience in companies with digital products, designed for manufacturing, industrial, logistics, energy, M2M, IoT & connectivity etc.
• Experienced and entrepreneurial leader: able to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, define a clear vision and motivate the team, as well as recruit top talent
• Strong business development and relationship-building skills, knowledge of how to sell a product that needs customer integration, support, success
• Product mindset, customer-focus and/or experience working in operations heavy function/business 
• Experience in managing Board of Directors and corporate stakeholders to keep regular updates on business performance and progress
• Fluency in German and English is a must
