Job Description

Expanding Tech Services Company seeking to recruit a Senior Network & Security Engineer to join their team. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to grow their network skills especially LAN/WAN and Security in addition Wireless and Voice. The role will involve predominantly project works but there will be aspects of BAU support required. The ideal candidate will a self-starter requiring minimal supervision and will be reporting directly to the Global IT Network Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Active monitoring of networks, observing trends and identifying opportunities to improve network performance and stability.
  • The day to day administration and support of appropriate network management tools and the regular reporting of network performance
  • Responsible for day to day configuration management of the various network infrastructure components eg Switches and Firewalls, taking steps to secure configurations through appropriate backup
  • Robust network administration typically Cisco
  • Monitoring of and administration of network security
  • Ensuring maximum uptime of networking services, implementing suitable monitoring, HA and remediation
  • Involved in network LAN/WAN/Wireless/Security implementation and refresh

Key Skills, Experience and Requirements:

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in some/all the following technology areas from design, implementation and/or troubleshooting perspective:
    • Cisco Firewall technologies;
      • IPSEC/SSL VPN
      • NAT/PAT/DNAT/SNAT/Policy NAT etc
      • ASDM/CLI navigation for debugging and troubleshooting
      • HA/Cluster setup
      • Migrating legacy systems to NG FW’s.
    • Cisco ACS and ISE experience
      • NAC 802.1x /IDFW/RADIUS/TACACS
  • Experience of Pulse/Juniper VPN appliances
  • Experience of Network UTM and how they play a part in securing enterprise networks.
  • Experience of IDS/IPS/SiEM
  • Switching (VLAN, catalyst 2k/3k, stackwise, Etherchannel, QoS)
  • Certification (current CCNA Security as a minimum, ideally CCNP Security with ongoing development)
  • Experience of having working in a project environment and acted as project resource offering direction, expertise on networking and security principles
  • Experience from having worked in a global environment is desirable
  • International travel

  • Experience of stakeholder engagement and management at various levels and across cultures (internal/external customers, TAC, supplier)

  • Design (IP Addressing and subnetting, BoM list)
  • Monitoring (SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, PRTG/Solarwinds/NMS)
  • Routing (OSPF/RIP, BGP/MPLS, VRF)
  • Linux (Opensource technology)
  • Dell/multivendor switching
  • Infrastructure (VMWare/Hyper-V)
  • Cloud Technology (AWS, Azure, DC hosting)
