We have a newly created position within our Commercial Marketing Team for a Global Portfolio Manager: Sustainability, Health and Safety.

This position can be based in the UK or Globally.

This position is responsible for overseeing the marketing planning for the two external business themes of Sustainability and Health and Safety.

The objective of this role is to provide strategic marketing direction through to implementation to successful growth the profile of these themes as part of the Group Portfolio Marketing team. The successful individual will be the main point of contact for marketing between the Global Heads for Health and Safety and Sustainability, country marketing, sector and stream marketing, with responsibility for developing themed marketing plans that help drive business growth, increase market share, client retention and awareness of the BSI theme-related services. 

Key Responsibilities will include:

Product / Market Management:

  • Responsible for developing the Strategic Global Marketing Plans for the Sustainability and Health and Safety with input from the sector business heads, stream and sector marketing and country marketing
  • Support the Global leads in the creation of the sector value propositions and key messaging for the various client segments
  • Collaborate on the development of appropriate sales tools to support sales execution
  • Propose and create relevant theme marketing content in collaboration with sector marketing community,
  • Keep up to date with competitive landscape, ensuring findings help drive strategy
  • Maintain client relationships to enable client insight, by attending a number of client and key account meetings

 Market Development:

  • Collaborate in the development of and the implementation of strategic marketing plans across the  Americas,  IMETA, CE, UK/Ireland and Asia Pac in the product areas consistent with the overall goals within the Strategic Plan, capturing measurable KPIs
  • Own interface with PR teams for sector related messaging especially on relevant market news items proactively providing comment/input on Sustainability and Health and Safety
  • Collaborate to develop marketing plans for new product launches relevant to the sector(s)
  • Work with digital marketing to assess online (web, social, automated marketing) success and relevance, identify and implement improvements
  • Actively build and maintain a library of market trend data and competitive intelligence to be used in marketing, sales and operational plans

Planning and Analysis:

  • Own the go to market plan of all new theme specific products
  • Own the go to market planning for Health and Safety and Sustainability
  • Report results of campaigns/ marketing plans and ensure they meet agreed KPI targets   

Success Measures:

  • Take the Ownership of the Marketing Plan both origination and implementation, encompassing strategic and tactical drivers for growth.
  • Digital performance of sector and domain campaigns for Health and Safety and Sustainability
  • Achievement of KPIs, as outlined in the marketing plans/strategies.

Reasoning and Decision-Making Ability:

  • Ability to apply principles of logic or marketing communications theory to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to form productive, collaborative working relationships across BSI, that help achieve marketing goals
  • Ability to make strategic and tactical decisions where limited prior history may exist.

Requirements for the position:

  • 3 years industry experience is highly desirable
  • 3 years b2b marketing experience 
  • Willing to travel
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong team player
