THE ROLE:

This opening is for GLSL/SPIRV shader compiler engineer working on OpenGL/OpenGL ES/Vulkan driver at AMD Shanghai R&D center. The engineer will be involved in all aspects of shader compiler development, including developing new shader extensions, implementing new SW/HW features, collaborating with local and global driver teams on silicon bring-up, trouble shooting and performance tuning of AMD GPUs running on multiple operating systems.

 

The shader compiler team is essential to the success of AMD as a top CPU/APU/GPU company in PC, server, console and AI segments. It is an exciting environment where you will be working on some of the most interesting projects the industry has to offer.

 

THE PERSON:

Candidates who are experienced in 3D graphics system (Direct3D, OpenGL/Vulkan, Metal, etc.) or compiler design would be successful in this role.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on front-end and back-end shader compiler for AMD APU/GPU products.
  • Implement and validate new ISA features for client drivers (OpenGL/Vulkan).
  • Optimize shader compiler to generate optimum native ISA code for best performance.
  • Work with key customers and vendors for feature implementation and issue solving.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient with compiler theory and technology.
  • Strong expertise in computer architecture, data structure and algorithms.
  • Rich and strong experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Solid knowledge in computer graphics, graphics pipeline and shader system.
  • Strong knowledge in ray tracing pipeline is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in software development life cycle.
  • Strong knowledge in using debug tools (Visual Studio, GDB, etc.)
  • Must be a good team player with team-working spirits and easy-going personality.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Prefer MS or higher education in CS or EE or Mathematics. #LI-AW1
