Your Responsibilities:
In this critical role based in Shanghai, you will lead a team of 25 people (located in SH, BJ, TJ & HK) to ensure that
GSK HR Operations move like a well oiled machine to support the strategy and growth of the Greater China
region’s 3 businesses (Pharmaceutical, Consumer Healthcare, and Vaccines). This role will support 6200+
employees across China and Hong Kong, from commercial, operational, as well as manufacturing positions, across
5-6 legal entities.

You will report to the Country Head of HR for GSK Greater China, also based in Shanghai, mainland China.

In this role, you will:
  • Capture all Tier 0 & 1 HR services for all of businesses in China & Hong Kong

  • Lead HR tier 1 service team, payroll and HRIS, additionally cover ER as well

  • Lead HR Services activities:
o To provide employee life cycle supports like onboarding, exit etc.
o To ensure data maintained in Workday timely and accurately
o To be responsible for supporting on employee queries through Remedy (ticket system), HR public
mailbox and hotline
o To be the advisory for all people management processes
o To support business ad-hoc projects like new entity setup, employee transition, organization
restructure and redundancy etc.
o To manage employee’s pfile
o To provide administration of employee benefits like annual medical check, Joy for life benefits,
annual flu infection etc.

  • HRIS & Project
o Be responsible for the updates on standard working instruction (for both HR & Customers) and
rules of data & system maintenance
o Work closely with global IT Workday Service team to support WD change requirements and mass
data upload required by local HR team
o Provide standard dashboards and/or statistics to HR council on monthly basis, including set of HC
reports, HR&WD SPM tracking reports and Remedy ticket analysis etc.
o Support ad-hoc projects/data integrations
o Be responsible for coordination of HR vendor management internally
o Support some HR internal ad-hoc reports for those who have no access of Workday

  • Employee Relation
o Be owner of Disciplinary Policy and Employee Handbook to be in charge of review and publish
process
o Work closely with Compliance to judge and consider the violation cases, set up the procedure and
guide operation team on execution
o Centrally monitor the progress of arbitration cases and coordinate the consultation from external
legal firms
o To be the internal consultant to provide the suggestions on handling individual ER cases
o Be responsible for supporting ER related projects
o Be in charge of HR investigation cases assigned by global.

  • Payroll
o Be responsible for monthly payroll calculation and pay out for all GSK China legal entities.
o Be responsible for calculation & inform the vendors on the contribution of SI&HF and also IIT
contribution on behalf of China employees.
o Work with Finance to ensure payroll data transfer to GL smoothly and correctly on monthly basis.
o Work with the vendor to ensure supplementary insurances run smoothly for China employees
o Be in charge of the payment to vendor for agency workers
o Provide regular statistic reports to local bureaus and also ad-hoc cost analysis report

  • HK daily operation and payroll
o Provide similar HR services in China
o Ensure HK statutory benefits e.g. MPF & OSRO and tax contributed on timely basis
o Work closely with HK payroll vendor to ensure payroll run smoothly and deliver on time
o Support some supplementary benefit program implemented in HK
  • Vendor management and payment
o To participate vendor selection and bidding process together with Procurement team according to
GSK TPO process to ensure proper vendors are selected
o Monitoring and tracking vendor services and deal with them to solve issues raised by employees
o Ensure vendor payment is validated and paid on timely basis

Why You?

Basic qualifications:
At least bachelor degree, MBA of management or Human Resources is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5-8 experiences as a manager to lead a certain size of team in HR, 3-5 years on the position of HR
shared service team, MNC background is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and high integrity to maintain certain level of confidence as well as motivation for team
  • Be familiar with Chinese Labor Law and Labor Contract Law, experiences to handle redundancy,
separation and M&A project is preferred
  • Have good sense and knowledge to drive process change and improvement
  • Project management, facilitation skill are highly recommended
  • Be good at time management and planning.
  • Good interpersonal and influences skill
  • Be strong on the systematical and data analytical thinking, some background/experience with HR system
implementation (e.g. Workday) is preferred
  • Good verbal and writing communication in both Chinese and English are required.
