The Customer Finance Advisor (CFA) facilitates 3rd party financings and/or risk-mitigating solutions for PG-JV projects and customers globally, thereby enabling an increase in PG-JV sales, while at the same time de-risking the underlying business.

In doing so we engage and negotiate directly with customers, financial institutions, consultants and government bodies, as well as internally with all functions and on all levels. Furthermore, the CFA provides expertise and advise in project development, business growth activities and commercial model development on all levels and to all functions.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for all 3rd party customer finance advisory activities are carried out in a timely, professional and sustainable way, in compliance with external as well as internal PG JV instructions and regulations.
  • In collaboration with the PG JV ECA Assurance Officer to drive regional training and customer finance activities in a way to ensure all external compliance is met (especially when dealing with Export Credit Agencies).
  • Where applicable and together with the relevant CFA (or other person responsible), to review and ensure any country specific internal PG JV instructions and regulations compliance with local external requirements.
  • Align and maintain core bank relationships on the 3rd party customer financing activities with and for the region.
  • The fundament for all customer finance activities is regulated in the PG JV Instruction and Regulations as well as in the respective RACI matrix.
  • In the capacity of regional point-of-contact, pro-actively build, maintain and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders within the customer finance domain.
  • To proactively capture and develop business opportunities in the region (incl. BRI) where customer financing solutions may be of relevance.
  • To provide advice and facilitate applicable viable customer financing solutions to projects in the region, as the knowledgeable and experienced speaking partner in the interphase between seller/buyer/third party-financier.
  • Additionally, to advise on risk mitigation solutions and instruments (e.g. letter of credits, ECA/PRI cover), and support in the internal risk review process for large projects from a political risk and financing perspective.
  • Maintain an active exchange and dialog with all the PG JV customer finance advisory community.
  • Provide regular training within the region for the capacity building (CFAs as well as internally).
  • Target setting and review for the CFAs within the region (function responsibility).
  • Interact with other PG JV functions in order to apply and ensure all standards are met (i.e. true sale).
  • When applicable and in coordination with the Global Head CFA, support Offset & Counter Trade, M&A dd, Business Development activities and related topics.
  • Enable/Provide bottom-up reporting of CFA activities to the Global Head CFA.

Your background

  • Solid knowledge of international financial markets, common products and institutions (related to customer finance and risk management), and in addition a desired level of regional market knowledge.
  • Finance and business control knowledge with process orientation.
  • 10 years’ experience from advising on or the arranging of export, project or other structured customer financing solutions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and maturity in the daily contacts internally as well as with third parties.
  • Solid managerial, cultural and interpersonal skills to earn the trust and confidence from others and successfully engage in negotiations.
  • An absolute team player, yet a willing “lonely fighter” with a precise working methodology on all levels of detail.
  • High flexibility and ability to work under pressure and to effectively adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Solid business acumen with very high integrity earned in an international environment.
  • Fluent English (oral and written), the corporate language, local language, as well as working proficiency in other relevant languages (e.g. Chinese, French, Spanish).
