The Head of MPS Operations (HMO) is responsible for ensuring operational execution of our wide scope of Managed Pathology Services (MPS) and solution offerings with our customers. Our overall vision is to deliver an operationally consistent, best in class and commercially differentiated managed service contract model for our customers.  This encompasses, but is not limited to, planning, and delivering all agreed solutions and / or services and maintaining them throughout the contract lifecycle in line with our contracted obligations.

The HMO strategically contributes and drives the operational aspect of our solution design and / or services throughout tender / contract bid phases, provides stewardship on the contract delivery post award and ensure an effective handover and transition of the implemented services. In selected customers, this will also include the contract management of the agreement with the trust to ensure that Siemens is delivering against contractual commitment. The position manages a team of partnership managers to ensure that Siemens Healthineers is viewed as a partner by the trust and delivers both operationally and strategically on the contract.

In addition, this position is responsible for researching, engaging, and contracting goods and services from partner companies that will help customers and strengthen our MPS solutions, always seeking to gain valuable exclusive components. This position is critical to manage the overall operations of MPS across GB&I ensuring that best practise is shared and implemented across all accounts.

This position is pivotal in ensuring that Siemens Healthineers delivers superior value clinically, operationally and financially thorough our support, execution and focus on customer deliverables and requirements.

Responsibilities:

·       Leadership: Provide leadership, direction and day-to-day performance management via coaching, managing and motivating direct reports to meet or exceed goals set. Act as a role model to influence adoption of best practices by less experienced employees.  Ensure the application of effective performance management techniques. Recruit, mentor and coordinate training - ensure staff have the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively and further develop them in line with business and customer requirements. Maintain effective management control of all customer issues via the partnership managers and RSM resource, reaching into the organisation help and support where necessary (this position will serve as an escalation point).

·       Maintain and improve customer satisfaction levels, utilising survey results, review meetings and other feedback to monitor performance and identify ways of increasing satisfaction.  Ensure all complaints and commendations are appropriately logged and actioned as mandated by the business.

·       Ensure the procurement process as executed against 3rd parties complies with company standards and ensure the maintenance of pricing confidentiality. Ensure all 3rd party framework agreements meet Siemens MPS contractual requirements and minimise Risk exposure of 3rd party related MPS components

·       Communication: Ensure partnership and programme managers keep relevant staff within the business informed such that any resource requirements for support may be planned and organised appropriately.

·       Development of Partnership services: Recommend and create the next steps in our partnership journey with customers.  Recommend other added value services that will create win / win value between customers and ourselves.

·       Develop long term partnerships through constructive and pro-active engagement with of the team clinicians, staff and management of the hospital

·       Finance - Responsible to ensure financial control mechanisms are place for all contractual MPS services to be delivered. Measure accurate MPS delivery costs vs Profit

·       Quality - Responsibility to ensure that Siemens MPS solution offerings meet and exceed industry quality standards, customer quality requirements and UKAS needs. Offer enhanced MPS Quality Management advice, support and guidance both internally and externally. 

·       Solution Governance (execution perspective) - signoff pre tender submission of the proposed solution from an executability perspective and also then definition and operationalisation of the solution post tender award.

·       MPS Design, execution and KPI's- Responsible to ensure the relevant areas of the business fully understand, accept and execute the solution design proposal, deliverables and associated KPI's.

Skills & Experience:


An appropriate operational background with proven experience of leading a function that delivered complex customer solutions

Experience of managing and developing direct reports. Proven motivational and leadership skills. Ability to maintain a professional manner under all circumstances.

Degree or relevant professional qualification.

Project management and administration experience

Good presentation skills and communication skills

Experience of working in the Clinical Diagnostics Marketplace in a senior customer facing position

Proven experience and track record in taking responsibility for customer delivery

Ability to work with all cultures
