Job Description

We are excited to launch a new stealth venture - a thriving community and marketplace where industries, technologies and professional services come together to innovate in new ways. The venture helps organisations leverage the proven solutions of others to solve their own business problems, reducing duplicate effort and inspiring new approaches to innovation. 

Our platform is based on a blockchain technology and hosts a variety of proprietary solutions and curated content from leading industry players, startups, vendors and universities. We aim to inspire and foster collaboration between a community of innovators both online through our platform, and offline through events and relationships. 

The venture is being built by BCG Digital Ventures (“BCGDV”) and is backed by leading industrial players across the world. The business is due to launch in early 2020, and will be based in London, UK with some international travel. 

What will the role involve?

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for the development and delivery of our Marketing Strategy, working closely with the CCO to bring insight to the business through the development of our brand, product and communication plans. You will build up a strong team to manage daily B2B marketing challenges and help to achieve the ambitious growth targets through building disruptive and effective strategies and efficiently executing them. 

As the Head of Marketing you will

  • Responsible for growth strategy and execution in a B2B sales environment
  • Provide input into multi-channel growth strategy based on product needs: SEO, SEM, DSPs, social paid and community/influencer development, word of mouth, email marketing, push notifications, traditional, mobile native and web, programmatic display, etc.
  • Marketing to an enterprise/business community, e.g. trade-shows, expos 
  • Experience managing a brand a B2B environment
  • Define, execute, analyze, and optimize multi-variant tests
  • Create detailed cross channel forecasts and provide numeric rationale for analysis to meet all KPI targets
  • Set up of daily, weekly and monthly internal/external reporting for all digital channels 
  • Present reporting results and plans to board of directors
  • Mentor and develop a team to deliver to high standards and ensure KPIs are met
  • Be agile and iterative in your approach, and relentless in your search for the next unexploited growth opportunity
  • Be responsible for all digital media customer acquisition and drive to engagement and retention

Desired Expertise & Experience

  • A proven track record of success in scaling digital B2B business through cross-channel user acquisition and retention initiatives internationally and into new markets 
  • Sustained experience actively acquiring users for a digital start up or growing and retaining a more mature digital business
  • Proven experience in both online and traditional Marketing channels (essential)
  • Sound understanding of SEO and how to align paid media channels. This will include understanding of onsite technical optimisation & offsite content strategy
  • Has been responsible and managed large budgets across multiple digital channels
  • Analysis and Accountability - The ability to define and report on "your market", understanding and reacting to the individual nuances
  • Will have managed a digital marketing team previously
  • Experience scaling web based and native mobile products and services
  • Expert communication, presentation, and material preparation skills required
  • A passion for building, bringing to market, and scaling digital products and services
  • Entrepreneurial spirit to help us shape our growth initiatives 
  • Experience within the oil & gas, metals & mining and energy industries is desirable but not essential
