The purpose of the China IT Asset management team leader role is to manage, control, and protect the organization’s IT assets throughout their lifecycle, from purchase through to final disposal. In addition, the IT Asset Manager designs, develops, and implements the asset management strategy for China in compliance with the global AZ asset management framework and local regulations.

Key Accountabilities

The China IT Asset Management Team Leader is responsible for defining and executing against the following activities:

• Manage IT hardware asset portfolio with respect to risk, cost control, governance, compliance, and performance objectives.
• Manage the third-party vendor to receive, configure and deliver new and recycled assets
• Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data in the asset management system.
• Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve and optimize IT Asset Management processes
• Manage the regular disposal of IT assets in China
• Leading the strategy for and management of IT Asset compliance assessments (internal audits) and key partner for internal technology and service projects
• Lead on optimizing the user experience of maintaining CI and Asset Records to ensure ease of use and customer satisfaction
• Generate IT Asset Reports as required to stakeholders and business areas
• Work with the team to drive continuous improvement to all asset management processes and procedures and seek opportunities for synergies and collaboration with other teams such as Procurement and Finance in China
• Establishing and driving outcomes that are measurable, sustainable, and aligned to industry best practices

Job Dimensions

• The position will report to the China Campus IT lead
• The position will partner with multiple stakeholders within IT and the AZ China Business
• The role locates in AZ China Head office, Zhanjiang Hi-tech park, Pudong, Shanghai

The role can either be associate manager or manager depending on the fit and the competence of the individual.

Person specification
An experienced IT Asset Management professional with a demonstrated knowledge of IT Asset Management working in a large, global enterprise organisation with a varied IT Asset Management environment.

• Demonstrated knowledge of IT Asset Management best-practice governance methods, associated processes and policies. Experience implementing automated IT Asset Management processes desired but not essential
• Candidate should ideally hold an IT Asset Management Certification; IAITAM IT Asset Management Professional (CITAM) and/or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP)
• Experience of IT Asset Management using ServiceNow/AMS desired but not essential
• Knowledge of Hardware Asset manufacturers, devices, vendors and resellers
• Ability to influence IT stakeholders to optimise the IT Asset landscape
• Expertise working with vendors / resellers to optimise and align IT Asset Management process
• Candidate should have experience with ITIL methodologies; ITIL v3 certification preferred, with experience in a large enterprise ITIL environment
• Candidate should be flexible and adaptable with the ability to work on multiple assignments and must be customer-facing; ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical and aggressive timelines in a fast-paced environment 
• Team leadership and vendor management experience is required
• Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills; self-driven, detail oriented, and determined
