JOB PURPOSE

Based at our Castleford Manufacturing site this will be a 12 month Fixed Term Contract initially, with the possibility of being extended to a permanent role in time. The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for improving productivity, generating SMV’s (Standard Minute Value) and overseeing Management Reporting

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the production teams to ensure a smooth flow of production by creating accurate operational breakdowns and line balance sheets
  • Generate accurate SMV’s (Standard Minute Value)
  • Implement method improvements to achieve given SMV and further reduce SMV
  • Production studies and help to clear production bottlenecks
  • Method studies/audits – SOP
  • Process audits – Sharps audits, needle procedure audits etc.
  • Performance building – cycle checks and production studies to highlight issues that affect performance.  5 m’s  - for operators on performance build and low performances.
  • Efficiency calculations and reporting – providing key data for performance improvement.
  • Absence analysis to identify patterns and trends  
  • Costing – Provide SMV for costing
  • Ensure efficiency methods are implemented during samples making (in order to apply the same methods in bulk production)
  • Prepare and navigate pre-production meetings
  • Feed information to the Planning Department to set targets and output scheduling
PERSONAL PROFILE

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience of working in garment manufacturing or 6 years in any other related industry

  • IMS – Diploma in Management services or BSc. Industrial Engineering and
  • GSD – Certification
  • MS Excel
