COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

Founded by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) oversees the operations of the Hong Kong Community College, offering quality sub-degree programmes for secondary school leavers; and the School of Professional Education and Executive Development, offering professionally oriented academic award programmes for persons at various stages of their career, including top-up degree awards for associate degree and higher diploma graduates. There are four Academic Divisions in CPCE, namely Divisions of Business and Hospitality Management; Languages and Communication; Science, Engineering and Health Studies; and Social Sciences, Humanities and Design.

Information Technology Unit

Information Technology Officer / Assistant Information Technology Officer (E-learning) (Ref.190913-03)
[Appointment period: two years]

Duties

The appointee will (a) assist in the implementation, daily enquiries support and operations of e-learning system Moodle; (b) assist in analysing user requirements and performing system design; (c) perform system development and enhancement, database design, testing, implementation and related support tasks; (d) conduct bug-fixings and prepare documentation; (e) carry out maintenance of servers and database systems, and (f) perform any other duties as assigned.

The appointee will be required to work at different campus occasionally.

Qualifications

Applicants should have (a) a recognised degree in Information Technology, Computing Studies or a related discipline; (b) five years of relevant post-qualification experience; (c) hands-on experience in MySQL/MariaDB, SQL development and database maintenance; (d) hands-on experience in Linux environment such as Ubuntu, Docker and Shell Script development; (e) good knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, Apache, Nginx server and revision control such as GIT, and (f) the quality of being creative, responsible and be able to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with experience in Nintex/K2 development.

Applicants with less experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Information Technology Officer. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

Remuneration

Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
