Typical Accountabilities

  • Contributes to multiple Corporate Affairs and communications projects to help AstraZeneca communicate important corporate messages to internal and external partners

  • Contributes to engagements with key internal or external groups, such as sales teams, external charities, industry associations, embassies, government lobbyists and regulators

  • Carries out research, either individually or as part of a team, into more complex areas of government legislation, regulation, managed markets or public policy

  • Supports the development of public affairs/government affairs strategy to influence patients’ paths.

  • Liaises with brand managers and other internal colleagues to explain how internal or external developments can affect their brands or areas of responsibility

  • Helps brand leaders develop communications programs and strategies tied to their respective brand strategies

  • Builds and participates in internal and external networks to share information in the legislative, regulatory or public policy arena and disseminate standard methodologies internally

  • May manage data information systems to keep track of external relations with various social groups or charities

  • May engage with lobbyists or government/ regulatory officials

  • May lead all aspects of the regulatory submissions for particular product categories or brands

  • May have budget management responsibilities

  • May be encouraged to influence colleagues in other areas/functions and/or in groups

  • Acts as resource in one or more areas of Corporate Governance, helping managers and colleagues resolve more complex Corporate Affairs and communication related issues

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • 2 years of experience in Government Affairs in Pharma sector, preferably with focus on at least one of the following therapeutic areas: CVRM, Respiratory, vaccines, oncology.

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with the following partners:

(Internal : Colleagues within the corporate affairs function, Brand Leadership Teams and external, External Service Providers, Government and regulatory contacts, Charities and not-for–profit organisations)

  • Experience in communications or corporate affairs

  • Expertise in one or more area(s) of internal or external corporate communications

  • Fluent English language skills

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, communications, law or a related field/

  • Other CEE language skills

  • Understanding of new media, especially social media
