The Investment Trust Department is responsible for providing Specialist Fund Accounting services to clients in respect of Investment Trust vehicles. The jobholder is responsible for the performance and supervision of work necessary to provide Specialist Fund Accounting services for a number of Investment Trusts.

The primary services provided are:

• Board paper (Expense Reconciliations, Revenue Estimates etc.) and 
• Other reporting 

The department manages 4 client relationships covering circa 24 Investment Trusts.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of a small- to medium-sized reporting team.
• Sets work priorities and allocate resources according to business needs.
• Manages the daily reporting requirements on multiple trusts and clients.
• Review work completed by more junior staff and assists in resolving escalated problems that may arise during daily, weekly or monthly cycles.
• Ensure team’s adherence to established process and procedures.
• Prepare schedules and information in relation to Investment Trust’s board, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to agreed timetables and SLAs.
• Identifies and implements process improvements to reduce audit and financial exposure and improve team efficiency. 
• Ensure effective recording and resolution of external / internal queries.
• Liaise with internal parties relevant to Trust deliverables (includes oversight, valuation, expense teams and others). 
• Assist in staff management processes re Investment Trust accountants in conjunction with Manager, including recruitment and appraisal processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/ finance/compliance or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
• 5-7 years of total work experience preferred; 
• Advanced English proficiency
• General knowledge around economy, financial markets and accounting
• High motivation & willingness to learn and work within the team 
• Excellent attention to details
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills 
• Some managerial experience would be an extra asset
