Your New Company

My client is an international luxury group based in Manhattan, NYC. They have a very strong history globally and they have been in business for over a century already. You will be joining a company with many instantly recognisable brands that are extremely popular at the moment and a legal team that is one of the most established in Asia. With the growth of the business, my client has a newly created position that is responsible to provide legal services with regards to Leases, Privacy, Social Media, Corporate Services & Advertising to the business in Asia Pacific. Beside strong contract drafting skills, a candidate for this role will have solid experience in the industry as you will be tasked with managing parts of the team from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Corporate legal work & other duties
  • Work with local corporate counsels in the Asia Pacific region and consult them on local legal requirements in your area of legal expertise and provide contract templates as appropriate.
  • Prepare and review lease agreements, LOI's and such other agreements related to planning and construction of DOS and/or shop-in-shop, including appointment of architects or other professional consultants, and provide contract templates and standard clauses if appropriate
  • Provide legal advice with regard to corporate websites, social media, draft website and email legal notices, warranties, disclaimer and privacy statements under consumer protection law considerations
  • Analyze and apply regional data protection and privacy laws and regulations and provide solution-based legal advice and guidance in such areas to local management. Create and provide legal training, and best practices in such areas to executive management and sales professionals
  • Develop and implement personal data protection policies and guidelines and develop and implement privacy and data protection agreements, standards and procedures in relation to partners, affiliates and vendors for compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws
  • Provide legal advice on direct marketing, advertising and media activities under Unfair Competition, Copyright, Trademark, Privacy, Advertising and Consumer Protection law considerations
  • Provide corporate secretarial advice and services to the Group's entities in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal business and legal partners and outside resources


Qualifications

  • Qualified Lawyer from a civil or common law jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in similar position, preferably in both a top-tier corporate law firm and multi-national company
  • Strong understanding of corporate and company laws in the Asia Pacific region
  • Strong contract drafting skills
  • Ability to produce clear and succinct written legal analysis and business communications
  • Strong communicator and influencer capable of interacting and leading change with senior executive leaders
  • Strong at balancing risk and opportunity and thinking creatively to enable the business to make smart decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across different Brand cultures and all levels of management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Team player, self-motivating, collaborative and energetic
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
