Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world. Since production of the new MINI started in 2001, almost 3 million cars have been made at Plant Oxford.

Three UK plants have had a part to play in MINI production – Plant Hams Hall makes engines, Plant Swindon produces body pressings and sub-assemblies for MINI, and all this comes together at Plant Oxford with body shell production, paint and final assembly.

Vehicle Quality Testing
 
The Vehicle reliability team are looking for an intern starting July 2021 to support with our vehicle quality testing. Reporting directly to the Reliability Manager; the successful candidate will be driving and testing vehicles, assessing faults by dynamic test drive analysis. They will need to ensure all testing guidelines are followed and will need to log incidents raised during the testing process and record them promptly and steer them into the BMW problem resolution system.

This is a great opportunity to get hands on with our vehicles, you will be providing customer orientated evaluation on a range of MINI vehicles in various specifications, enabling faults to be reported quickly to enable solutions to be put in place

What will you be doing?

• Inspect and assess cars for any aesthetic or technical faults
• Record concerns, update reports and raise incidents
• Liaise with internal vehicle users and specialist vehicle auditors to monitor vehicle quality
• Liaise with Engineering departments and co-ordinate analysis of the vehicles
• Generate reports for management presentations

 

 

  • A valid UK/EU Driving License
  • A relevant Business or Engineering degree, on track to achieve a minimum 2:1 or equivalent
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Manage the daily movement of cars in and out of the department
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of stakeholders at varying levels in the business.
