Your opportunity

Our Hong Kong office is looking for a Manager, Procurement Advisory to join our Customer & Operations team and help our clients transform their Procurement organisation through technology, organisation redesign and process re-engineering.

 

We are looking for candidate with specific experience and skills in the following areas:

- Exposure to a variety of structural procurement challenges and issues, procurement transformation and procurement cost optimisation programmes
- Experience with the implementation of e-procurement solutions, whether specific related ERP modules or best-of-breed source-to-contract (S2C) or procure-to-pay (P2P) solutions
- Experience in personnel management and demonstrated ability to lead work of other colleagues, coach and contribute to the development of younger practitioners
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to analyse complex business problems, structure and synthesize findings and conclusions
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 

The responsibilities attributable to this role include the following:

- Assess clients’ current procurement practices and compare to leading practices
- Define and implement optimised procurement target operating models and processes
- Act as functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) or as Engagement Manager as part of a
e-procurement system implementation (S2C, P2P, CLM, SRM, etc.) or other digitalisation initiatives in procurement (e.g. RPA)
- Lead spend analysis, identify cost savings initiatives, and develop category strategies
- Support clients in conducting strategic sourcing initiatives (i.e.: RFx) for a targeted spend category from end-to-end
- Develop and implement supplier risk & relationship management frameworks
- Manage a team of KPMG professionals at Consultant and Senior Consultant level on client engagements, and oversee day-to-day project work
- Develop appropriate client relationships to enhance the reputation of KPMG as advisor of choice and identify further client opportunities
- Contribute to prospective business development, including proposal preparation and contract management, by leveraging existing relationships with C-level executives
- Take a significant role in sharing knowledge and developing solutions, and supporting the development of other team members
- Coaching team members to ensure excellent client delivery whilst also enabling their career development

 

The candidate will have the qualifications below:

- Minimum of 5 years of procurement transformation experience with a good track record of delivering high quality project outputs with a focus of delivering measurable business improvements
- Management consulting experience will be considered an asset
- Proven project management experience
- Industry experience should include banking, insurance, FMCG and manufacturing industries
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics or Engineering, with related work experience
- M. Sc. in a relevant discipline or MBA will be considered an asset
- Experience implementing and/or using leading e-Procurement solutions such as Coupa, Ivalua, SAP Ariba, Oracle, etc.
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Mandarin and Cantonese will be considered an asset
