As a Senior Engineering Manager of Experimentation Platform, you will champion and influence PayPal A/B Testing platform and Experimentation data analytics for all the PayPal products and services. You will be responsible for mission critical experimentation tools, technologies and services. We are looking for an experienced leader who possesses top-class leadership experience in building and scaling high performing teams. Our platform empowers Product Managers, Marketers and Product Analysts across PayPal to optimize for the best customer experiences while building products.

Job Duties

• Drive vision & strategy for building the experimentation platform

• Manage and develop a rapidly evolving platform and technology stack on a diverse set of platforms to enable rapid iteration and experimentation.

• Facilitating and driving key technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders and software development teams.

• Attracting, retaining and building top notch full stack engineering talent.

• A customer champion that can work with engineers, product managers and analysts to enable their business needs

• Be a mentor, technical leader and thought leader for a talented team of both front end, back end and data engineers, challenging them and helping them grow.

• Partnering with product, technology, program management and analytics stakeholders to balance aggressive road-map against engineering principles.

• Building a culture of learning and sharing technology insights across the technology teams.

• Driving consistent practices in hiring, training and development across the technology organization.

• Bring innovation to the table that helps in improving the resiliency of products you are responsible for, sell your ideas and be part of the change.

• Looking for continuous improvement in productivity and quality.

• Tracking business impact of features on a regular basis and rely on performance data to make informed decisions about possible changes or improvements.

• Deep collaboration with cross functional engineering and product teams to evolve the reporting platform.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining high performance, high availability, large-scale platforms and applications.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to grasp and convey complex product requirements or technical concepts.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment.

• Experience building and managing highly effective engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, making compensation decisions and recruiting talent.

• Proven results-oriented person with focus on customer experience and delivering quality products.

• 7+ years of software development and engineering experience.

• 5+ years of experience managing and growing engineering teams (of 5+) that are responsible for large scale, high volume websites.

• Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns.

• Solid knowledge of JavaScript/Node/React, Java, web services (REST/JSON)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Flexibility and an ability to work in a matrix and dynamic environment.

• Experience building or using A/B testing infrastructure and current trends in Experimentation & Machine learning is a huge plus.

• BSCS + 10 yrs or MSCS + 8 yrs or PhD + 6yrs
