This role:

The Strategic Finance team at Mars, Inc., plays a critical role in the planning and analysis of financial strategy at the enterprise level and in partnership with the business segments. The team provides strategic thought partnership to the Mars, Inc. CFO, segment CFOs and other global segment leaders, with a focus on driving effective, data-driven decisions and long-term value creation.

 

The Strategic Finance Analytics Manager will be responsible for tracking, analyzing and modeling current and projected business performance, internal and external benchmarking of key KPIs and supporting analytical work around corporate valuation & TSR, target setting and incentive planning, strategic resource allocation and other relevant ad hoc business and financial analysis. Manager will work to support the Strategic Finance team in our overall mission and objectives by running and completing analysis (financial modeling in Excel) and helping prepare/translate analysis to PPT for discussion with broader team, Mars Leadership, Board, segment CFOs, etc. Use of Mars internal financial systems, Nielsen, CapitalIQ, Excel, PPT, Words, etc., required.

 

What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. 2-4 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis (e.g. strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate development) and/or Accounting

Investment banking and Consulting

Intermediate level accounting, exceptional financial modelling and data management skills, Excel and PPT required

 

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Segment-level and enterprise level financial analysis and reporting
  •  
  • Financial modelling for segments and enterprise, including scenario-based target setting and incentive planning/outcomes
  •  
  • Assist with granular breakdown of business to evaluate returns and drive fact-base discussions around strategic resource allocation
  •  
  • External and internal benchmarking against key KPIs
  •  
  • Support ongoing corporate valuation and TSR analysis
  •  
  • Support analysis and preparation of materials for Board-level and leadership team presentations
  •  
  • Ongoing, general ad hoc analysis and overall team support.
