The eCommerce team at VMWare is responsible for direct sales of software, licenses, services, and support via the VMWare Online Store. We are at an exciting stage of growth & team development and are looking to add a talented Manager, eCommerce Analytics & Performance to manage our analytics, tagging, and reporting.

This is a hands-on, technically orientated role that calls for a mix of digital marketing, analytics & front-end skills. To be successful in this role, you must have a deep understanding of web analytics, marketing data, advanced Excel, reporting and web development. Hands-on experience with Magento is strongly preferred.

Job Role & Responsibility

  • : Primary owner of set-up, administration of analytics, tagging, and 3rd party integrations on Online Store
    • Ensure Online Store Analytics are optimized for customer experience, page performance, and conversion goals.
    • Support a culture of Test & Learn. Work with internal & external teams in set-up, execution and reporting of multiple split-traffic & cohort tests. Ensure all tests are properly sized, analytics are in place, and reporting metrics are established.
    • Identify, understand & communicate trends in eCommerce performance. Track cart performance and ensure integrations between Online Store and 3rd party platforms are working correctly.
    • Work with internal teams to ensure customer flows from other VMWare web properties are tagged consistently and optimized accordingly. Ensure all campaigns, launches & tests follow best practice in UTM & analytics setup.
  • : Front end skills
    • Launch pages on Magento Page Builder, ensuring pages are coded & tagged to optimize loading times, customer experience and data integrity.
    • Create dynamic store experiences within Magento Page Builder, allowing us to deliver tailored web experiences to individual visitors based.
    • Work closely with CRO, UX/UI & Production to ensure customer experience is always maintained to a high standard.
    • Assist in the QA of new store, and new product launches.
    • Work with email marketing team to ensure customer lists are up to date and accurate, and available segmentation & targeting are applied.
  • : Become the Subject Matter Expert on data & reporting. Understand the data flow between eCommerce platforms, VMWare order management systems, Finance, and other platforms.
    • PoC with internal BI, data, and adjacent digital marketing teams
      • Ensure Online Store compliance with VMWare data policies
      • Own data roadmap with internal team
    • Ensure relevant and timely reporting is available to the wider eCommerce team.
    • Work closely with eCommerce ops team to ensure integrity of store data on the Magento platform is resulting in optimal customer experience.
    • Work with email marketing team to ensure customer lists are up to date and accurate, and available segmentation & targeting are applied.
    • Proved ad-hoc deep-dive analyses, business cases and other investigations.


Required Skills

  • 5+ years managing analytics in a global eCommerce role.
    • Google Analytics
    • Google Optimize/ Optimizely/ VWO or similar
    • TealiumIQ/ AudienceStream or similar
    • Session recording & heatmaps (HotJar, SessionCam)
  • 5+ years operational experience with an ecommerce platform, either
    • On-prem: Magento, (or BigCommerce, SAP Hybris, ATG or similar)
    • SaaS: Digital River (or Cleverbridge, 2Checkout or similar)
  • 3+ years operational experience with CMS platform (Adobe Experience Manager, Craft, Drupal or similar)
  • Hands-on experience in web technologies: JavaScript, XML/XSL, HTML/DHTML, CSS. You must be comfortable building, configuring, publishing, and troubleshooting web pages.
  • Advanced Excel and data-interrogation skills. You must be comfortable wrangling data from different sources into structured pivot tables.
  • You are a proactive self-starter, who never stops learning. VMWare offers excellent training in both online & offline settings; you will be expected to avail of this to keep your skillset current and relevant.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize workload while maintaining a sense of humor.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with querying languages such as SQL, Python, R
