Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Nacogdoches, TX facility. This position offers relocation. Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on process improvements for the Single-Phase Transformer product line. Responsibilities will include day to day support of the manufacturing team as well as longer-term strategic planning and project management. The Manufacturing Engineer will be called upon to prioritize department opportunities, research and identify potential improvements, and manage the complex projects to implement changes. In this function you will: Prepare capital expenditure requests Leads cost-out events and promotes culture of continuous improvement. Applies lean manufacturing techniques as means to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer’s expectations. Develops and maintains robust, cost efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices. Interact with upper management and outside suppliers and agencies, including regulatory personnel. Coordinate projects with people at all levels, departments, and facilities within the organization. Independently designs and develops projects to support overall company objectives. Interfaces with manufacturing personnel to improve existing processes. Provide technical expertise to support daily operations to achieve significant improvement in production related objectives. Investigate and resolve safety related projects. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Controls Engineering from an accredited institution Manufacturing engineering experience Demonstrated proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD tools with electrical or mechanical systems. Knowledge of standard industry drafting/modeling practices 1+ years of design experience with electromechanical systems Experience with custom engineering design and processes is desired Experience in creating, loading, and storing engineering designs within an ERP system, preferably SAP, is desired Familiarity with FEA, modeling, detailing and layout drafting techniques is desired Knowledge of power systems, distribution/power transformer products/applications, and/or industrial automation/controls is desired Ability to excel as a team player by successfully collaborating with engineering peers as well as cross-functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
