Joining our Manufacturing Team

An apprenticeship within our Manufacturing function is the ideal starting point for anyone wanting to become a highly-skilled Engineer, with training that will take you through the many areas of vehicle manufacturing. To make the most of being an engineering apprentice, you’ll need to be analytical and inquisitive about how things work and have the confidence to seek out the answers.


And this is just the start of your journey with Rolls Royce Motor Cars. An apprenticeship can offer many career options and enable you to make the most of your potential. To date, 100% of apprentices successfully completing the programme have been offered full time employment at the end of their studies.


What to Expect


As a Rolls-Royce Engineering Apprentice you will be attending Chichester University on a part time basis and you will also follow a placement plan within the business spending time in various functions of Manufacturing and working on projects to compliment your degree studies.


The four year programme is designed to enable you to experience different aspects of engineering and production technology including: manufacturing techniques and materials, mechanical failure analysis, engineering tools and techniques, renewable and sustainable power, computer-aided engineering and many more.

 
With hard work and commitment, you will achieve a Manufacturing Engineer degree apprenticeship which includes the BEng Mechanical Engineering degree.

 
You will learn the skills to start a successful career within a Manufacturing function with the focus on initial roles within your department.


Rate of Pay


A competitive salary starting at c.£13,650 pa which will increase annually up to c.£34,000 depending on individual progress and performance.

Working Hours


40 hour working week. Apprentice start and finish times at Goodwood may vary slightly according to work-based placements and college hours.

 

 • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 6 (or above) including Maths and English.
• Plus a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above including Mathematics and preferably Physics or a technology-based subject, or a Level 3 apprenticeship or Level 3 BTEC qualification.


When it comes to selecting the right apprentices, it’s as much about attitude and behaviours as it is about vocational and academic success. That’s why in addition to the qualifications we require from you, we’ll also look for you to have a range of skills, attributes and competencies. These include: team working, as well being able to work without close supervision; quality focus; good communication skills; the ability to show enthusiasm and initiative; and to take responsibility and be accountable for your work.


As part of your application you will need to upload one of the following:


- a copy of your most recent school report* and a CV or
- a CV and an employer reference, or
- a CV and a personal statement 

 
*If you are currently studying you must upload a school/college report.


We cannot progress your application without either a school report, employer reference or personal statement.


You must also be able to provide proof of your legal right to work in the UK, if you are not a UK or European passport holder.
