Follow @abbvie on TwitterFacebookInstagramYouTube and LinkedIn.  This role will support continuous operation and advancement of AbbVie Bioresearch Center’s IT and manufacturing systems, and in establishing a stable and future-ready digital foundation.  

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include: 

  • Develops and validates Manufacturing Execution System (MES) master data using POMSnet. 

  • Assists and participates in all aspects of MES project implementation (recipe design, interface development, documentation, testing, etc.). 

  • Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement. 

  • Collaborate among peers and internal customers to determine system business needs and requirements.  

  • Coordinate, execute, and support User Acceptance Testing of ERP changes and MES Recipe releases with peers and internal customers to ensure business requirements are achieved. 

  • Assists with the development and maintenance and of the Manufacturing Systems and Processes (data management, integration, system development, change management and tech transfer) and interacts cross-functionally amongst departments. 

  • Develop system technical documentation; including but not limited to, functional specifications and UAT test scripts. 

  • Provide direct internal ERP and MES support to end users. 

  • Troubleshoot routine and complex problems to support internal customers. 

  • Work closely within the site and global organization in the evaluation and implementation of application updates and continuous improvements. 

  • Monitors, ensures compliance, and conforms to all regulatory and company mandates. 

  • Maintains system availability, prepares metrics to evaluate systems performance, and works with stakeholders and users to ensure that service objectives are met. 

  • Provides training for onsite users in ERP and MES. 

  • Provides after hours (on call) support as needed on a regular rotation. 

 


Qualifications

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, along with a minimum five years of progressive work experience required. 

  • Experience within the Bio-Pharmaceutical industry with knowledge of GxP. 

  • Working knowledge of MES such as POMSnet, Syncade, PAS-X, etc. required. 

  • Experience working with ERP systems like SAP required.  

  • Experience in the adoption and application of ISA-88 and 95; and connecting enterprise systems to shop-floor systems/processes required.  

  • Experience with commissioning and qualification, and computerized systems validation required. 

  • Experience with coding in VB, C#, or other standard programming languages preferred. 

  • Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Visualization applications preferred.

  • Proven ability to recognize symptoms, analyze system data, and take corrective actions when problems arise.  

  • Must be proactive, have a positive attitude and high-level personal integrity. 

  • Exposure to Industry 4.0 technology pillars such as augmented reality, big data, iIOT, and vertical & horizontal integration of systems preferred. 

Physical & Safety Requirements: 

  • This position requires good visual acuity, with a large portion of the time using a PC or other screens. 

  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day).
