Job Description

Advantest America is the North American subsidiary of Advantest Corporation, the world's largest provider of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to the semiconductor industry. For over six decades, Advantest has led the way in developing new and innovative test and handling solutions for the global electronics industry. Advantest is seeking for an experienced Director of Operations.

We are looking for a Director of Operations to coordinate and oversee our organization's manufacturing and supply chain. This individual will implement the right processes and practices across the organization. Specific duties include formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring material and resources and support securing product regulatory and safety compliance. This individual will find ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all levels while remaining compliant, efficient and profitable. This also includes price negotiations, supplier review and contract preparation. This is a fast paced, dynamic environment so this individual must be able to handle rapidly changing work assignments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, publish and oversee weekly build plans and ensure timelines are met.
  • Ensure all material availability and flow for all products from manufacturing through shipping.
  • Support engineering needs, including documentation, equipment and prototype builds.
  • Manage supply chain and shipping processes including authorizations, vendor relations, tracking and investigations on lost or damaged goods.
  • Coordinate with other business units for additional processes, procedures and audits.
  • Monitor end-to-end manufacturing with focus on optimizing for efficiency, cost and quality.
  • Deliver weekly manufacturing summary highlighting accomplishments, risks, issues, etc. for key products.
  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices and ensure legal compliance.
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Some travel may be required.
