IKEA Components holds a unique position within the IKEA value chain. We develop and supply IKEA with customer friendly component solutions for better products – and better homes. This includes a responsibility for selected components and raw-material, which means develop, purchase and supply to IKEA suppliers. IKEA Components also have the assignment to provide After Sales service of components to the end customers. Our business is global and today employs 1400 people based mainly in Sweden, Slovakia and China.

By taking over the responsibility for IKEA retail equipment we are on a journey towards taking our assignment to the next step, creating a new IKEA business that is even more affordable, accessible and sustainable. The retail equipment range is an important part of the IKEA identity. It supports presenting, selling and handling of the IKEA product range, strengthens the IKEA Brand and helps visitors enjoy the full IKEA experience.

Job Description

We are looking forward to welcoming a new Market Representative (MR) to IKEA Components Market Team in Shanghai.

Our assignment is to improve and develop the Home Furnishing Suppliers (HFS) purchase of components. Our job is to secure market activities on an operation level with concerned HFS and IKEA Purchasing securing a service minded and professional approach to IKEA Components business partners.

You are genuinely interested in securing a great buyer experience and in people's life at home. You have energy, drive and commitment to deliver better products and services for the many people. In addition, you are highly motivated in understanding the area within the scope and you desire to continuously learn and develop in a curious way. Furthermore, you are interested and driven to find common interests and agenda as well as to build trust and partnership to reach common goals.

Main deliveries as MR for Retail Equipment Business

  • responsible for assisting buyers ordering products and services, answering questions, scheduling orders, handle claims for expansion
  • validate purchase requisitions and orders to secure compliance to policy, process, preferred suppliers, agreement terms
  • send out price requests and negotiate rates and specifications
  • screen and validate quotations to make sure they follow pricing and terms & condition as per agreements
  • secure that suppliers receive correct purchase orders and handle invoice questions in relations to the purchase order
  • seek opportunities for improvement in order to contribute to call-off working methods, systems and processes
  • interact with buys and suppliers to support with operational issue handling, e.g. escalate issues and claims
  • co-operate with members in other functions and own units to accomplish common goals

Qualifications

You are the one who:

  • have good communication, fluent in English in written and spoken
  • have retail and supply chain background
  • have good knowledge on project management
  • have proven ability to work micro and macro capacity in a multi-project setting which consists of timeline driven tasks, changing priorities and details
  • have ability to multi-task and high sense of urgency to timelines and unique needs of each project/country
  • are analytic/structured
  • have “Strong” personality, dare to handle conflict
  • are passion in sharing the own standpoint
  • have good teamwork
  • are open and straightforward

Good understanding of products and services within the Equipment range and procure-to-pay is a plus. We believe that you have the capability to understand the bigger picture and always act with the customers and IKEA values in mind. You are able to identify and capture process and business opportunities, and deliver results through involving and engaging people. Building trust and long term relationships, and adapting to a fast changing environment, is in your scope. Furthermore, you can take responsibility and initiative.

Additional Information

You will report to the Market Manager in Shanghai.
