The US Migraine Marketing Senior Manager, Media & Advertising will be responsible for leading, planning, and executing key elements of the Consumer marketing strategy and patient-focused touch-points critical to commercial success of Aimovig, Amgen’s preventive migraine treatment. Critical to the role will be developing and evangelizing an in-depth understanding of the migraine consumer, and defining and executing opportunities to continue to disrupt this competitive space leveraging diverse elements of the marketing mix and patient experience. 

The Consumer Senior Manager, Media & Advertising will partner heavily with internal and external cross-functional partners and be responsible for leading and managing patient focused agencies and media.  This role will also lead a direct report, responsible for social care/customer service, and performance reporting.
 

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the development and implementation of an innovative, disruptive multi-channel consumer communications plan, including strategic partnerships with critical media outlets, influencers and advocacy groups.
  • Lead development of brand marketing creative briefs and creative strategy.
  • Develop breakthrough creative across multiple channels, ensuring close collaboration with the Digital Consumer, POC/Adherence Consumer and HCP Senior Marketing Managers for seamless integration
  • Manage all elements of brand consumer media plan, including strategy, objectives, KPIs and budget
  • Lead strategic development and execution of media partnerships, maximizing ROI, value add and performance
  • Leadership of all consumer-related agencies to hold them accountable to the highest standards of performance.
  • Systematically develop and track metrics for media mix, consumer engagement and advertising effectiveness, while linking to the broader success metrics of the brand
  • Be the brand liaison and key support to corporate advocacy
  • Cross functional leadership to gain alignment in focus and timing with internal partners both strategically and tactically
  • Coordinate and driving focused market research plans to generate significant insights in further driving marketplace success.
  • Lead key Consumer-related assets through legal/regulatory approvals
  • Partner with Global to ensure asset sharing where relevant
  • Implement test and learns to support marketing innovation
  • Leadership of direct reports, setting clear objectives, coaching and opportunities to develop marketing and leadership skill sets

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

OR

Master’s degree and 4 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

OR

Associate’s Degree and 10 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical marketing competencies: Marketplace/consumer analysis and insight generation, consumer segmentation, brand positioning, brand sustainability (campaign/message platform development), execution excellence (multi-channel development and metric development/tracking)
  • Multi-channel media plan development
  • Strong ability in both leading cross-functional teams, and in being a member of a cross-functional team
  • Strong communication effectiveness: The ability to effectively engage, connect, and influence senior management and the sales and marketing organizations
  • Ability to translate and communicate complex information/strategies into simple and impactful execution plans
