The Laboratory Automation’s business unit consists of standard robotic product lines as well as custom automated systems managed via projects that are provided globally to the pharma, bio-pharma research industries. The Materials Coordinator is responsible for expediting key materials through the supply chain to ensure continous operations of our manufacturing and assembly processes to meet company objectives and customer requirements. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of medicine research through automation that welcomes qualified candidates from a wide range of industries.

What will you do:

  • Responsible for coordinating and consistent supply of materials required for day to day operations
  • Coordinate international shipments with customs, freight forwarders, logistics providers, couriers and other external contacts
  • Track and estimate ETA of critical deliveries and communicate to production team
  • Coordination and relase of vendor materials to meet production schedules
  • Responsible for Inventory management, cycle counting and physical inventory of warehouse and off-site locations
  • Mitigate any issues related to material delivery such as logistics, design, costs etc by coordination with other deparments
  • Monitor Kan Ban inventory on shop floor and request replenishment as required
  • Manage inventory stock levels by applying inventory control principles, monitoring key SKUs and working with procurement to increase stock levels as required
  • Report production numbers into NAV ERP and ensure accurate entry of finished goods and inventory movement transactions
  • Create, modify and release production work orders
  • Run MRP worksheet daily and review demand changes and coordinate with procurement
  • Reconcile vertical lift module system on a regular basis to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Maintain documents, files and records for the purpose of documenting activities, and providing materials and reliable resource information
  • Monitor accurate inventory placement and labelling of warehouse systems, VLM storage carousel and storage areas and liason with Warehouse coordinator to make corrections
  • Be a key contributor in yearly physical inventory process and work on implementing improvements to streamline process
  • Other responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned by the Materials Manager.

How will you get there:

  • College degree
  • 5 years’ relevant experience in materials coordination, expediting, inventory management and ERP systems
Experience:
  • 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Experience working with 3000+ SKUs and effectively tracking and coordinating multiple inbound deliveries

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of logistics, customs and inventory processes
  • Knowledge of global trade compliance regulations an asset
  • Familiarity with Vertical lift modules and inventory carousels
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV considered an asset
  • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel (or equivalent) preferred
  • Ability to lift material up to 50 pounds
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills; listening, verbal and written
  • Ability to problem solve and identify potential issues
