Our European Hub based in Rotkreuz, Switzerland is comprised of highly qualified professionals from a variety of cultural backgrounds, whose efforts are primarily centered on marketing our products in the region.

We are currently seeking a Medical Communications Manager for our Hematology/Oncology team. The successful candidate will adapt regional medical communication programs, events, and scientific tools for one or multiple products & disease-states aligned with regional medical strategy.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Generate and execute the regional Medical Communications plan
  • Plan, organize and execute standalone educational events and satellite symposia
  • Review and provide input on Global Core Content (GCC, ie slide decks, videos)
  • Adapt GCC or generate region-specific content as determined by unique needs of the region
  • Ensure approval of scientific content through regional processes and communicate on new content to regional and country level staff
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative Medical Communications strategies and channels
  • In partnership with the Global Medical Communications team, lead and execute regional strategy for Tier-1 congress deliverables & key activities, including Medical Affairs booth and satellite symposia
  • Lead and execute regional strategy and deliverables for non-Tier 1 congresses including booth assets and regional activities
  • Organize and execute regional Medical Communications advisory boards
  • Contribute to EU Hub Medical Communications team meetings, and lead EU Hub – country affiliates meetings
  • Medical review of promotional content
  • Effective management of consultants and vendors for content development
  • Act on Key Performance Indicators (e.g. concerning events, tools, websites)

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree or Master’s degree in Sciences with 1 or more years of relevant experience within the biopharmaceutical industry (other doctorate degrees may be considered).
  • Prior experience in clinical research, patient care, clinical development, Medical/Scientific Affairs, basic research in the therapeutic area
  • Experience with the development and implementation of innovative communication tools and channels
  • Understanding of relevant disease states and treatment landscapes
  • An understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the regulatory and legal guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products
  • Aptitude in writing and presenting on scientific and clinical data
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational, time management, and project planning skills with strong ability for self-direction
  • The ability to critically analyses scientific literature and translate latest knowledge into Medical Communications content
  • Demonstrated track record of strategic execution in a matrix environment with limited supervision
  • The ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across corporate functions
  • Prior experience of successfully managing consultants and vendors
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products and experience with innovative communication approaches
  • Multilingual, proficiency in English is a must have
