AstraZeneca has a broad pipeline of next-generation medicines in Respiratory & Immunology; the pipeline includes promising assets being evaluated in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), lupus nephritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atopic dermatitis.

The BioPharmaceuticals Business Unit (BBU) creates and executes meaningful therapeutic area and product strategies that are focused on addressing the unmet needs of patients around the world. The BBU integrates commercial, market access, medical, digital, and corporate functions to drive scientific development and commercial excellence in the core areas of respiratory and immunology, cardiovascular, renal and diabetes disease.

Typical Accountabilities:

The Immunology Medical Science Liaison is a field-based professional with scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca’s lupus program and other immunology compounds in development. The Medical Science Liaison engages in scientific exchange with medical and scientific experts, including Healthcare Professionals and Managed Markets Customers consistent with Medical Affairs objectives.

In this role, you will develop peer-level relationships with medical and scientific experts, including Healthcare Professionals and Managed Markets Customers, consistent with Medical Affairs objectives; identify pre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators in alignment with Medical Affairs objectives; provide actionable information that enhances the value and appropriate use of AZ products to internal stakeholders.

Additionally as the Immunology Medical Science Liaison, you will respond to customer inquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of AstraZeneca's products and services; deliver appropriate clinical and scientific information that clinically differentiates AstraZeneca products; provide clinical support and deliver data presentations regionally and nationally.

Requirements:

-Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, or PhD in life sciences is a must have

-Knowledge of customer segments and market dynamics

-Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences

- 1- 2 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry

-Ability to travel (50-70%)

- Immunology and/or rheumatology experience is highly desirable
