We are building a team of Oracle Database Administration and Engineers in Dublin for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure service and we would love to learn more about your background.
 
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) combines the elasticity and utility of public cloud with the granular control, security, and predictability of on-premises infrastructure to deliver high-performance, high availability and cost-effective infrastructure services.
 
The Oracle Database team supports all OCI software engineering teams. Every new OCI service and every new OCI region increases the number of databases we’re responsible for. These scaling challenges demand both deep Oracle Database Administration skills and aggressive leveraging of Oracle technologies and engineering. As a member of this team, database availability, performance and customer satisfaction will be your top objectives.
 
A Database Administrator/Engineer will spend a significant amount of their time doing operational and reactive work related to the maintenance of our production databases. When not working on operational issues, the Database Administrator/Engineer is working on engineering tasks such as automation, self-healing monitors and other efforts to improve operational excellence and database stability. The ideal Database Administration/Engineering candidate has a deep understanding of Oracle Database technologies as well as experience with scripting and automation

Our team in Dublin will be an extension of a well-established team in Seattle and together both teams will operate a follow-the-sun support model.
 
The job is office based working typical office hours and there will also be an on-call rotation.
 
 Qualifications\:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5 -10 years plus experience in Oracle Database Administration
• Deep knowledge and expertise in Oracle 12c database management features, such as RMAN, Data Guard, OEM and other enterprise DB options
• Experience in detailed performance analysis, tuning and diagnostics for Oracle 12c databases
• Knowledge of Linux OS and program languages
• Ability to work in an extremely fast paced and challenging environment
• Ability to learn and use new tools for large scale database management
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English

!|!Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
