ABOUT GLOBAL LANGUAGE TECHNOLOGY DELIVERY:

The Global Language Technology Delivery (GLTD) Organisation provide outstanding service to the RWS Language Delivery organisation and by extension to their customers by offering direct support, application set up, optimisation and process improvements for RWS Language Technology Solutions. Thanks to its global presence within RWS, GLTD works closely with RWS technology users (both internal and external) to deliver innovative technical solutions in response to a wide range of requirements.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a hands-on position that requires an excellent communicator with a solid ability to work as a team. The candidate will be applying deep technical knowledge to analyse assets for localization, determine and follow best practices to optimise quality of the final deliverables. The PMO Technical Solution Specialist will be the main point of contact for technical quality related matters and engage with other RWS Departments as required to ensure customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and will preferably have experience in a similar role.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Consulting and Quality Monitoring activities:

• Prepare and reintegrate translation assets across a wide range of applications (DTP, Engineering, E-Learning)
• Assist RWS Sales organization by providing technical expertise to win new businesses
• Analyse and optimise processes for existing customers
• Provide automations through scripts and macros 
• Facilitate the rollout of new RWS product releases by actively participating in the testing phase
• Monitor and analyse quality complaints to ensure long term resolutions by involving the relevant RWS departments

 

Process and Knowledge Building activities

• Keep abreast of the latest localization processes & Technologies 
• Ensures that relevant project documentation is updated and maintained and that changes are communicated to the extended project team
• Prepare detailed project brief for technical production teams
• Be proficient with a wide variety of localisation tools

 

Communication and Relationships activities:

• Provide user training to internal or external contacts including, if necessary, translators, project managers, job creators and client reviewers. Ensure that training is thorough and documented through written and recorded training materials to maximise self-learning and self-help by the users after training.
• Builds trustful relationships with peers and technology users alike by attending account meetings for example and identify efficiency gains on the current process such as adding/removing translation workflow steps or ways to ensure that support cases capture all the information required
• Mentor and guide junior member of the teams with queries with the view to develop their technical skills

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Very good English in writing and speaking

• At least 3 years of experience in RWS processes, files types and our tools (Studio, TMS, XML, HTML, SGML derivatives, MS Office, FrameMaker) and complex projects within the localization/translation industry

• Acute attention to details
• Reflect, analyse and make suggestions on existing processes to increase the overall efficiency
• Advanced level of diplomacy and negotiation skills
• Proven methodical problem solving skills
• Keen interest for technology
• Advanced knowledge of the Localisation processes
• Good understanding of current content creation tools and files types (XML, HTML, SGML derivatives, MS Office, FrameMaker and other current or proprietary file types)
• Advanced time management skills
• HTML and XML  fundamentals
• Previous CAT Tool experience
• Scripting, Macros or programming skills (C,.Net Framework)

• Technical consulting experience
