SUMMARY

Proficient in inspecting product from drying tunnels, ability to effectively clean trays/deeps and operate the tray inspection machine. Monitor product quality and notify supervision of poor quality work. Products include Rx, OTC, and Nutritionals. Reads and adheres to workplace procedures such as SOPs, Batch Records, cGMPs, MSDS memos, employee handbook, and company bulletins. Work safely adhering to all job safety procedures such as wearing PPE. Ensures all documentation in official records is accurate, clearly written, and errors are corrected properly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to;

1. Reads and adheres to workplace procedures such as SOPs, Batch Records, cGMPs, MSDS memos, employee handbook, and company bulletins.

2. Works safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries by observing moving equipment and adhering to all job safety procedures such as wearing PPE.

3. Verifies all paperwork brought to room is checked to ensure correct product code and lot numbers are the same as those printed in the batch record.

4. Checks all logbooks to ensure they are complete and verifies the room and equipment are clean and ready for use.

5. Checks capsules after tunnel drying for unacceptable defects such as slugs, color variation, pinholes, and other defects, and foreign material during Inspection of Soflets/Softgels

6. For Soflets: Moves stack of trays from drying tunnel, checks stack card to ensure time for drying has elapsed, pulls off top tray of Soflets, removes capsules with defects, scrapes capsules into shaker box and into deep.

7. Have the ability to inspect capsules on inspection belt, removes defects such as odd shapes, transfer marks, and leakers. Follow batch record instructions.

8. Separates defective capsules according to type of defect, loads into defect box, and marks type of defect on defect box during Inspection.

9. Records stack number, start time, finish time, date, and rating of product of each Deep stack on Inspection Record Form.

10. Removes blue tunnel nets on stack at end of the lot and places in soiled netting bin to be laundered.

11. Clean used trays/deeps by wiping with towel dampened with 70% IPA, stacking clean trays/deeps on cart, and place completed "Empty Tray Return Record" form.

12. Covers deep stack filled with inspected capsules with plastic specified in batch record, completes the appropriate form, places form on stack and pushes deep stack to staging area for packaging.

13. Removes waste capsules for disposal by sweeping capsules from floor, and removing capsules lodged in equipment, placing waste capsules into reject box, weighing bag, completing reject form, and dispose of as specified on placard in reject area.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Minimum of 3 months manufacturing experience.
